I was in the Tampa area for work and knew I'd have a free afternoon so I submitted a request for a preview play at the new Cabot Citrus Farms. So far they have an 18 hole course (Karoo), 10 holer (Squeeze) and lit par 3 (Wedge) built, and are currently working on the 2nd 18 which they say will be this summer. Full opening for the resort in September or October.
It is an absolutely fantastic property and wish I could have played the Squeeze and Wedge too. The Karoo was designed by Kyle Franz (who did the recent renovations on the Southern Pines, Mid Pines and Pine Needles) and is a blast. Essentially 0 water on the course and lots of elevation change so it barely feels like typical Florida golf.
I think very quickly they'll be on par with Streamsong in terms of pricing and popularity. Though likely more to be for a more relaxed group than Streamsong.
