I've noticed that some manufacturers have a new ball for 2024 (TM updating the TP5, Callaway Chrome Tour, etc.) I've always been a Kirkland guy because I just started playing a few years ago and they are cheap. But, as I've gotten better over the last year or so, I'm wanting to step it up to a more premium ball. I'm sure that most answers I get here are going to be ProV1/x but just curious to hear the golf board's thoughts.

Snell MTB-X. Recently had 5 dozen delivered for $99.
I bought 4 dozen Maxfli Tour X for $99 on ebay last fall after ready the MyGolfSpy ball reviews.
They are legit, and 60% the price of the Titleists I usually play.
The market has found though, and the prices are up.

I like Srixon balls. Titleist ProV1's are nice but for double the price, no thanks. My game isn't good enough to justify $5 balls. A buddy plays Snell's and really likes them.

Try the Titleist AVX if you like soft and have a higher flight (and assuming spin too) this ball is great for keeping driver height and spin down.TecRecAg said:

I am high spin + flight myself and switched to the AVX. My long game dispersion has gotten tighter with keeping the spin down. Played both that and Pro-V1 for a couple years, and the AVX spins around the green as much as a Pro-V1.
FYI - the new kirkland was recenly reviewed by MyGolfSpy and basically rated as the worst ball they have ever reviewed.

also I used to play strictly Maxfli's but word has gotten out after the mygolfspy thing and with the increase in price I have switched to either Vice Pro's when I can randomly find a sale on Amazon, or I'll play Cut Grey's.
I get a slight discount on TaylorMade stuff so I play the TP5. Thinking about switching to the TP5x after testing out the new ones back in the fall.
I'm a TaylorMade Tour Response guy.

Tour B X usually. But going to see how the new one plays. Might check out the new Callaway Tours and TP5s reviews too and see which one I game this new season.

You caught me. I admit it, I play range balls.
You could always hit up Lostgolfballs.com and test out some of the ones you are interested in before buying them brand new. Their Mint (5a) condition is indistinguishable from brand new balls.
On a serious note, I love the Bridgestone E6 and E12. The E6 is my choice in high wind conditions because I get less spin so it penetrates better and less of a risk of going into the deep stuff. E12 otherwise because I get a little more distance and I love the feel around the greens.
I am the rare guy who isn't a fan of the Pro V1 and 1x and other similar balls. My swing speed is 100-105 so I don't think I get the compression really needed to take advantage of the ball construction. That said, as long as a ball isn't one of those $1 balls that are hard as a rock, I don't think the ball makes a big difference for me.

Srixon soft. But as I lose them and find other balls while searching for my ball, I might end up playing Titleist, Callaway, Noodle, etc.

When it comes to the premium golf balls, what they look like matters to me. I like the look of a Pro-V1 and a Chrome Soft and a TP5. I used to like the look of Bridgestone until they replaced the word Bridgestone with a big ole ugly B. Srixon's are just too bright of a white for me..... and I don't like the big cursive letters on a Vice. Never played a Snell or a Kirkland so can't speak to those. I'm probably weird.
