Buddies and I are going in April. Planning to play Granada on Friday and the 27 holes at Isabella on Saturday. My question to the board is do they offer options on what order in which you can play those 27 or is it usually predetermined? If so, do you guys have any recommendations on which nine should be front, middle, back 9 or does it matter at all since we're planning to play all 3 anyway?

The rotation of 9's is set by golf course well in advance. Just ask as you set up tee times which 9's are in play on your date of play. The original 18 holes are now called Nina (front 9) and Pinta (back 9). This Nina/Pinta combo is still most common rotation. The Pinta / Santa Maria (newest 9 holes) is probably 2nd most common combo (and my personal favorite). And finally the Santa Maria / Nina is other combo. In my experience, the course will be set up so that your group will be able to play all 3 9's on same day with a morning round and then an afternoon replay round of a different combination of 9's.

Our golf group has been looking into places to take a golf trip towards the end of the summer and Hot Springs is one of the destinations that we've talked about. Does anyone have any pointers on where to stay (Airbnb, vrbo)? And once we select a place for lodging how do we go about scheduling tee times?

We booked our place through VRBO. However I was told by the folks at Central Tee Times that they have a working relationship with Village Villas. You can book both golf and lodging through Village Villas. Their website is villagevillas.com and phone number is 501-922-0303.

We booked lodging separately, and I just booked tee times today with their central tee time office. They can book you for any of the 8 courses. Phone number 501-922-2858.

You can learn a little about each course at explorethevillage.com.

I haven't gotten my confirmation with what they are charging for green fees, cart, etc, but they did tell me in their 2023 prime season (April thru October) 18 holes would generally run anywhere from $53 to $84 plus tax for tee times before 1pm. After 1pm was $40-$55. When I get more info on our upcoming trip fees I'll post here.

make sure to play Cortez. Some really cool holes on that. We rented an Air BNB that overlooked #15 I believe.

BYOB brother.

Eat at the german place in town. Casino is super fun too.

There is a Texas Roadhouse in town. Courses were solid with some significant elevation. Hot Springs itself is pretty worn out and run down.

I'm going in April and they said it was the same weekend they are aerating the greens at Cortez. Prob best to stay away if playing in April.

We went in early April last year and the courses were pretty rough still from winter.

They had an abnormally cold and wet winter and courses hadn't recovered

I've been in prime growing season and Granada is maybe one of my favorite courses. #1 is awesome. As is 18 and many on the back.

frankly speaking, winter and spring golf in the HSV sucks.... the courses don't drain that well.

Summer is too hot.

Fall is the best time.

Will agree with this. We have a group of 18-24 guys that drive from all over Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, 3 houses and is set in June/July. It was more humid/muggy than anything. We do have 2-3 guys that live in the village to help with bookings.

The guys would stop at the Walmart just outside the villas and stock up on snacks, beer (as mentioned before, BYOB so bring coolers to take on the course), lunch meat, utensils, electrolytes, etc). We do pizza at the local pizza place (really good) the first night and then grill the rest of the nights as someone brings the burgers and chicken from their local farms.

We play poker, card games and corn hole all the nights.

Wake up and play 18-36 pending the weather/conditions.

It's a great trip!

The casino is awesome. And it's non-smoking.
