Why is it that all of the golf influencer video images look identical? Scrolling through YouTube you'd think it's just a bunch of videos from the same people.
Wouldnt be shocked if many share the same producing team

My opinion on Koepka did a 180 after Full Swing on Netflix. This only helps that.
That's been the case for several guys. Bryson and Phil especially. I just assumed the PGAT vilifying some golfers was more along the lines of a planned wrestling persona / scheme. But now that some of these guys get to show people who they are after shunning the PGAT, I'm starting to think they didn't get a say and it wasn't a fair deal by the PGAT.

It's been "interesting" watch the PGA tour continue to avoid the social media space at the expense of the golfers. While a career journeyman, Wesley Brian hinted that they expected to get a PGA reprimand for doing a fairly benign Youtube behind the scenes at the Farmers. It seems he's pretty much decided to play as many PGA tournaments as possible, but focus on social media as his path forward.

With Rory and JT and Hoffman now making an effort to try and get the guys to be more outgoing, personable, and in front of the camera it seems they're having to take the lead as the PGAT is refusing to do so.

I believe a couple of the bigger Youtube personalities got smart and turned their production staff into a business doing so for others. If you watch some of the content there's multiple camera people and professional editing on short turn arounds being done for a lot of these. Small time guys can't bankroll a production staff and it pays for the staff of the big guys.

And if by identical you mean the content looking professional and being polished, I guess. The vast difference in their personalities is what sets them apart. I can't get into some and really enjoy others. But if the production is ameteur hour, it isn't going to last long.

I took that to mean like the YouTube thumbnail/image before you open it. I could be wrong though.

I think the large part of it is straight up copying successful channels that are getting views, but I've also heard a couple of Shiels' podcasts about how they might play into the algorithm youtube uses to promote videos. Bob Does Sports has talked about it a little bit, too. Apparently, similar thumbnails and video looks can get a channel following the wake of a successful video and in the algorithm so that it's suggested to viewers prone to watch it.

I was just thinking that the other day actually. The cutout of someones face over a background of the course and some title. These are all different accounts. Is this just the current optimized way that marketing people have determined drives the most clicks?

This. It's different golfers usually standing there crossing their arms, same bright colors everywhere, seemingly same big font, etc.

You'd think they're all content from the same account.

4 different accounts, 6 different videos, almost all identical.

It's absolutely optimized for clicks. In fact, a lot of time you'll see A/B testing happening on videos in the first couple hours of release where you see a different thumbnail being used to see what gets better engagement. It leads to "convergence" on the best thumbnail.

Rick Shiels "Considered the godfather of golf youtube by everybody currently on the platform" has told all these guys thumbnails and titles can make or break a video. There's clearly a formula being used
