So if Finau hits driver on the 7th with 170 mph ball speed, what are us mere mortals supposed to hit?

Three drivers

When I play a 100 yard hole, I always think three shotter.

I hit a 5 iron into a strong wind before from 100 out and I came up short. The ball was traveling backwards when it landed as I flushed it and the ball went sky high.

Can you imagine how heartbreaking it would be to finally get to play a round at Pebble and it is a day like that?

You can always play Pebble. Just takes money. Now Cypress Point or Augusta and you get ****ty weather? Would be devastating.

I would still be happy to play them on those days to.

I'd play about 13 holes and then demand a raincheck

I would love to see the reaction at Augusta National when you ask for a rain check.

"Sir, this isn't a Wendy's" comes to mind.

At least you have an excuse for missing the green. I played it on a picture perfect day and sent a gap wedge into the Pacific.

With wind like that you probably cannot hit the ball in the Pacific on 18.

There is a video I saw of JT hitting a fairway wood on 18 aimed right into the Pacific and while you don't see where it landed, he clearly indicated it found dry land.

Now if the hole went the other direction, I guarantee I could slice one into the Pacific. My slice is a wind cheater.

My one time playing there I hit a gap wedge from about 95 yards. I asked my caddy about the stories I had heard/seen. He said he had handed guys their 180-yard club from where we were standing.

Played there twice, great weather the first time and miserable the second. Caddy said they get 5-6 good days a year. I know that PB is a bucket list destination, but if you took away the 6 holes along the water, it would be no better than your basic muni! Give me mountain or dessert courses over that any day!!!

This everyday. I lived in Monterey for a year and half. Best weather is around Sep-Oct and the rest of the year, it's just misty windy cold.

PB to me is not worth the money other than do it once because it's PB. For me, spyglass is a better course and people forget Poppy Hills is right in Pebble Beach and it's worth every dime.

Played there in December; 3 days of no clouds and highs around 65 with just a slight breeze. The caddies said we got lucky. Pebble was awesome but I played better at Spyglass. Would do it again in a heart beat - the whole area is awesome.

I've been 9 under through 10 at Pebble before. It may have been on a play station with Tiger view used for putting but I know it was just as hard as doing it on the real golf course set up for tournament conditions.

Heck, I shot a 55 or 56 once at the Old Course.

Dude - they are pulling tee shots out of the fairway that are buried. Looked like Xander hit a hybrid on 1 and it disappeared when it landed.

Clark shoots a course record 60. He was on fire with the putter. There are some big names at the top of the leaderboard with Clark, Aberg, Thomas and Day. Should be an exciting finish.

Good leaderboard at Pebble Beach today but the weather forecast is not good for the next 2 days with the storm hitting the California coast overnight and tomorrow.

Not to take anything away from Clark because 60 is always amazing but give these guys preferred lies, minimal wind and soft slow greens and they will light up almost any course with birdies and eagles.

Yep. 6+, 5E, and 69- on the day.

Still an incredible round and not far from a 58

If you took four of these guys to the charity scramble at your course and gave them these conditions, they might even have a 1 in 5 chance to beat the 4 some that seems to always be in the low 50s.

I heard them say that the average score today was 69. I think I counted 8 scores of 67 or better. They weren't all lighting it up.

Only 11/80 players shot even par or worse. Clark had a great round no doubt. But it was absolutely a scoring day today with the conditions.
