Someone should build another one now that muni is gone. Briarcrest is always fully booked. Takes forever to play a round at a&m when you can get a tee time especially with them partnering people together.

It seems like munis struggle in the area for some reason. It seems like the population would support more than one.

Seems like south CS would be prime for one out towards the river/creek bottoms, but land prices are too expensive. 3 private country clubs, 2 public courses, one city that keeps prioritizing baseball and soccer fields and already has the highest park budget per capita in the country, and another that tore down the other muni tells all you need to know of the story of golf in these 2 towns. Heard people say that BCS is a dearth of competitive golf, and no one is helping it.

It would have to be a legit track. I'm south CS and can be at both Bluejack or Houston Oaks in 45-50 minutes and obviously those are private but Cypress courses along with Tomball (High Meadow) are another 10-15. I just don't think it would work though I'd love a track closer to home. I'm at Traditions and it's 25 minutes to go roughly 10 miles.

If Pecan Lakes would get their chit together this would be an ideal option. But that course has gone down hill for many years now and getting to the point that they just don't care. Miss the days of Bluebonnet in its prime.
Ravens nest (now Sam Houston) in Huntsville and Brenham course are good options.

Agreed, Pecan Lakes used to be a great option and fit the need well. Sam Houston is a much better option for the money than A&M IMO. I need to give Brenham a try though. Also need to give Grand Lake a shot as well

Grand Lakes is a great course. Confusing finding some of the holes from one to another but the course is fantastic. Zero amenities however, basically no pro shop, just a spare office with a desk attached to the cart garage, and no driving range or putting green.
