A full set. Doesn't have to be anything crazy nice
I know it's kind of silly that you came here with a budget of 100-150 and immediately get recs for 3-4x that budget. TexAgs tradition. But in reality that budget, in 2023, is just
really low for a half decent full bag of used clubs.
How old is your brother, what's his experience level? What about you? You're on a golf forum full of enthusiasts with college degrees. "crazy nice" could have a very different meaning around here.
There are a lot of 10+ year old game improvement irons that are still very relevant today for a beginner. They're also going to be more like $200 at least. And that's for just an iron set. You might be able to find irons for $100-150 if you get lucky and really know what to look for. 10 year drivers/fairways are still $30-50 each.
Pawn shops can have decent deals but even that's really hard these days. They all know how to use the internet too, and they can find the real value quickly.
Looking around on facebook market place and there are 10+ year old, full bags, in decent shape, but people are asking more like $300+ for them. $100-150 full sets are really old, mismatched messes.
