Lolol - just googled it. Overlooked that it was referred to as the STD capital. Definitely not part of the itinerary.
I've been there twice as a young man.jja79 said:
Never been. Just heard it's got some interesting people.

I live in a golf retirement community in Arizona so I know what you're saying. It's glorious to drive your golf cart on the cart path to the bar and back. Widows with big investment accounts and recent life insurance payouts make for interesting neighbors. I quickly found out I'm the only single man in my section so that's interesting.
You're right about this being about living your best life. These people are the friendliest, happiest, least stressed people I've ever met. I highly recommend it.
We don't have any communities as large as the Villages here so I think the dynamic is a little different. I've had the pleasure of meeting the poster who mentioned it at a couple of Texags golf outings so I hope he posts feedback after his visit.
Old men taking shots on the first tee makes for some interesting rounds. I'm not a day drinker so I frequently get left to sort out the scorecards and the money at the end.
This is why I would go HO or BJN ahead of anything in the hill country. Airports are on a different level--and my money is on Houston getting way more JSX routes ahead of Austin.AggieDruggist89 said:
This is unsolicited but looking at retirement area, my #1 criteria would be:
- mild winters followed by
- access to comprehensive health care then
- major airport.
You know all your married buddies on the block are bleeding envy....jja79 said:

What does the $215K go to if it's not an Equity Club?jja79 said:
I think it's $215,000.
How about older dudes with trophy girlfriend/s ?jja79 said:
Older married people seem to be life's most unhappy.

I'm an old guy on social security with a kid that just turned 21. You're not telling me about anything I don't know about.
