Good point... I didn't remember how far it was but I do remember it being out in the remote desert, haha.

So then maybe you should do Bear's and Reflection Bay.

Any thoughts on TPC Vegas?

Love it. Can't go wrong with any TPC course, in my experience.

I was unimpressed with TPC Las Vegas. The course conditions were fine, but the layout and scenery weren't great in my opinion. It was also quite crowded and play was slow when we were there.

I thought Wolf Creek was also just okay. To me, those extreme elevation change golf courses are a bit gimmicky. Lajitas is the same way. They look great but not my favorite style of golf. Wolf Creek is also a bit of a drive from Vegas. Their pro shop and practice areas are pretty underwhelming as well.

Shadow Creek is fantastic. Course layout, conditions, overall experience, etc. You've got to have money to burn though, because on top of the absurd green fees, we each spent quite a bit in the pro shop as well.

Couple of views of Shadow Creek:

TPC Las Vegas:

(These photos definitely look great but much of the course is surrounded by small houses and some apartment type houses - didn't take photos of those areas)

Wolf Creek (again, very cool to look at, just not my style for actual golf - so many blind shots, extreme elevation changes where balls get lost even though you thought it was right down the middle, etc)

TPC Vegas is OK for the price. TPC Summerlin up the street is a better course if you can get on.

Totally agree about Wolf Creek, it's so stupid and gimmicky, it's not super enjoyable from that perspective. I always tell people you should absolutely go play it once, because it's unlike anything else you've ever seen, but after that, IMO there's no reason to ever go back, at least not for me.

Did Wolf Creek used to be Badlands or is Badlands still there.

They are definitely different places and Badlands is closed (per a google search). I never heard any great things about Badlands.

Yeah I played Badlands once and hated it (as much as you can hate golf, which isn't much, but still).

I have the same opinion about Wolf Creek. Fun course to play once. We also played a 6 hour round of golf the day I was there. It was borderline miserable from that perspective.

Paiute is amazing. Just make sure to set up transportation before you head out. First time we played there it took an hour to get an Uber out there. Second time we setup a private car to take us and pick us up.

Just got back from TPC Vegas. Fun course and only 20 minutes from the strip. Great shape, great staff. $260 for green fee and clubs.

Played LVCC and Pauite- Wolf last week.

LVCC was fun. Older course, not too bad to get around. The LIV event on Super Bowl weekend is there, and they're already growing out the rough

I think Paiute is an indian word that means "windy as a MFer". That's a long course, and the wind....it wasn't pretty.

Gorgeous condition, though.

We're talking about doing St George UT for our 2025 golf trip. Would definitely want to hit Wolf Creek on the way out there from Vegas.

Absolutely, like I said, it's someplace you should go once. Just go to enjoy the unique setup and don't worry about the actual quality of golf.
