I feel a little guilt as my buddy has to fly for mine so while a little more expensive it all washes out.

The first time I played in one was as a guest and I didn't have to pay for any/thing so I just kept that mindset. Maybe I t's good karma.
He felt pretty bad about it.

Its always fun stepping on the first tee box playing against a "so-called 12" and giving him a pop and he hits it 280 on a rope right down the middle. Pops should be outlawed!
My last club went to ghin as half your handicap and half as your handicap based upon previous tournaments at the club. It really gets the sandbaggers over time.

Can you tell the difference in a real 12 that does that? I'm playing my first next week. I'm a 13 and can do that on occasion.
I've been living at the range lately and striking it well. More nervous about playing well than playing bad

You would have to have a different guest everytime. Which probably 80% of the time the teams are the same.
The only complaints they ever got was from the former winners. Your guest who is a 16 shot like a 2 over 3 days last year. He is going down as a 9.

My club has a 10 stroke differential which helps a little. It keeps the flights bunched up a lot closer.

You would need all team to post both scores, and if they pick up assume what they would have taken, i.e. a 35 foot bogey putt given would most likely be a double.
Ended up winning our flight this weekend. Then messed up the first hole in the shootout. Partner was getting one pop a side and played really well in the first match. First match Guys that I brought in a ringer even though he has played with me 4 times. He went back to normal after that but we brother in lawed well all weekend. Nice to get the win and payday.
Practice round for my MG starts Wednesday, although it looks like we'll get washed out. Thursday-Saturday should be nice. 5 9-hole matches. Of the 5, I think only 2 are a real threat to us. Get past them and we should be good to go.
Do higher handicap flights usually get pops on the shootout? Or is the shootout usually just straight up?

Our opening shootout is no handicaps.
The member guest championship shootout we had to give an extra shot to the other teams

Crazy how many "5" handicaps draining long distance putts and shooting 3straight rounds 76 or better

Member guest starts tomorrow at Hearthstone. Unfortunately I am not playing this year but seems we have a pretty solid turnout with 49 teams. Best time of year for sure.
That's a sick hat. I need to pull the trigger on it. I have one in black with a green logo that I love. Would be a great addition to the gameday wardrobe
Thanks. They're always sold out so you have to constantly check the site to see if they restock. I know my chances of finding a 2nd one are low so I'm always scared to wear it on the course. Given that the pic was from Bama game day I had to wear it.
Leading our flight after day 1. My partner carried us, I played horrible. Hoping to turn my game around tomorrow.
Well….
I played horrible again yesterday and so did my partner. We both played bad again today. Ended up dead last. Format was a 3 day quota. So we did get day money on day 1.
