Bluebonnet is non-existent and hasn't been in almost 20 years. I drove out there a few years ago and the hairs raised up on the back of my neck as if I was in Deliverance and people were watching me.

So the land where the course was is still there. Is it not salvageable?

At the time I was out there, there was nothing that even resembled a golf course. It was all overgrown and neglected. Not sure of any future plans for the land other than probably a subdivision for the the floods of people leaving the urban areas.

I'd love to get that place going again, one of the best layouts in its prime.

You can see a number of holes from google earth. I joke with my wife that when I retire, we're gonna buy it, revitalize it, and i'll have my own private golf course. I'll open it to the public, but i'll block out parts of each week when I want to play so I don't have to wait on anyone

You better hurry because it's about to be redeveloped.

Good times at Bluebonnet.

played the Campus Course on Sunday.

A few bare, sandy patches on some greens. But most had good grass and played well, somewhat fast. Lots of good grass in the fairways, some were actually soggy from so much watering. Stay out of the bunkers. they are bad. some have standing water with algae in them and even if not, when you take your shot and look at the divot, the sand below is green.

The course is in decent shape overall and certainly as playable as any public course right now. Could it and should it be better? Hell yes, but given the public course options around B/CS if you want to get in a round, go for it.
