My push cart doesn't get much use because I don't enjoy having to double time it to get to my drive to be the last one to hit while guys in the cart sit there and wait then speed off to the green the moment my ball is in the air.

Assuming two golfers are relatively equal in skill a cart is way faster. Average golf cart speed is 12 mph. A brisk walk is 3-4mph (15-20 minute mile). Yes, you can cut off time walking straight to the ball vs using paths, but not that much time.

Riding is faster, but unless you have a wide open course in front of you, I find that I have to pace myself anyway. Getting a good, healthy walk in beats driving right to my ball and then waiting. My usual 4some walks in about 3 hours

BTW, walking with a push cart burns about 1400 calories. Walking and carrying burns essentially the same. Do that 1-3X per week is a nice chunk of calories

I walk three to five rounds per week during the Fall, Winter and Spring. I cut that back to 2 times per week during the Summer. My Cliggear pushcart folds up nicely and stores on the back of my Golf Cart. So I drive my Golf Cart to the clubhouse walk 18 and then drive back home. Great exercise. I burn 1500 calories per round.

Get laughed at? ***** Those guys end up with about 10-20 rocks in their bag by the end of the round. I can walk all over the course with my push cart and pick more up to add while they are wasting time in their carts. I've always walked at a quick pace and never have much of a problem at all keeping up, but most of my regular group pushes anyway.
