Cypresswood puts on holiday scrambles throughout entire year. They do prizes the best way to help remedy some cheating. The first place team usually gets a free round of golf. The good prizes go to random placing teams they announce before the start. The last one I played the 3rd, 12, 22nd, and 31st place teams got prizes. Then they also had 2 competitions for flop shot and target practice that employees worked/scored. Of course still have CTP and longest drive contests. That's the way tournaments should give out prizes if ask me.

I've only played in scramble tournaments where there's 2 teams to a hole and you switch scorecards. Feel that's the best way to eliminate cheating.

Best driver of the ball hits first, longest hits last.
Approach shots first person needs to hit the green and go from there.
Putting usually the person that can putt decently goes first to get the line and speed. Best putter always last

Draw for winners
Closet to the hole = a shoot out on a par 3
Longest drive = a shoot out as well.

If they're good and/or long they'll be legit, if not they'll wilt.

I've won many closets to the holes and long drives this way. Several after the draw to go first, on a few where I've gone last didn't even need to hit driver.

I was in a group that won a charity tournament. We played 10 holes before an absolute torrential rain hit, then we stuck around the clubhouse for over 90 minutes until they finally decided they were going to call the tournament off and took up the cards. Probably 40% of the teams had already left because the wind was blowing like hell prior to the storm and never turned in their card. We did play lights out for our 10 holes and won in a scorecard playoff so I guess the cheaters weren't really prepared for that.

Our prize was these huge ass, ugly belt buckles that none of us would have wanted.

We have played in that same tournament in other years and have always been at least 6-10 strokes out of placing.
