Went out today with my new 3W TSi2 15 degree with an Xtra Stiff shaft.

I was hitting it as long as my driver as it was carrying 250.

I know I need to get fit for a Driver but what what gap should I have in 3W vs Driver 25-35 yards?

I am currently hitting a Titleist 917 Driver 10.5*. How long should a driver last before a face loses some spring? With a 108mph swing speed would I need an extra stiff shaft?

Shaft would depend on your swing tempo etc. but you are within the window to use an x flex if you would like. Honestly stiff or x it will be really depend on your dispersion and spin rate off the club. , You show fly your driver 265-275ish, should have much less spin than the 3wood and run more on the fairway.

I swing 113-118swing speed and honestly the best and furthest I've ever hit it was with a stiff flex.

My numbers on the range today showed 3,300 on the driver and 3;500 on the 3 wood. Think I just need to go get fit.

Just play around with different shafts until you can drop that to 2200-2500 on the driver. That will give you a lot more distance.

If your carrying your driver/3 wood only 259 with an xtra stiff shaft, perhaps you need to go down to stiff. I would imagine a club speed suited for a player that uses an xtra stiff shaft would be high enough to hit drivers 300+ yds

They recommend x flex starting around 105 Swing speed

You aren't carrying 300 on the driver until you hit 118-122 swing speed with a smash factor above 145 and spin rate below 2700

I have a 107 mph driver swing speed and currently use a 9.5 degree loft driver and I have two different shafts I use. Same brand but one is an x flex and the other stiff flex.

The x launches noticeably lower than the stiff. I use it on real windy days. Otherwise I use the stiff. To me, they both feel similar and both work well with my tempo.

This thread is relevant to my interests...

I bought a King F9 during Covidtimes when they dropped the price to 250. Unfortunately, only the 9* was available in the flex option I need. Anyone have a 10.5* F9 head they would like to part with? I've got the loft adjusted on my current but that closes the face (which I really don't need).

I could upgrade, but I like this model.

I'm about 5 mph slower than you and have a stiff with a high kick point on my G425 Max. I live it. My ball was low on spin and not launching high enough before.

Jj probably is right. Bet you have a negative attack angle or you hit it too low on the face or both.

x vs stiff is such a funny debate there's a lot more that goes into it. The x stiff shafts that are stock tend to feel like I'm swinging a telephone pole. Got fitted last year and have an x blue ventus in the driver and stiff red ventus in the 3 wood. Gotta look at weight and kick point of the shaft as well as what you are using it for.

I don't hit 3 woods off the tee so I wanted something higher launch

Is it as easy as moving the ball slightly forward to swing?

Might help some. First thing I'd do is get some dr schols foot spray and see where you hit it on the face. Should be slight above center and slight toe side.

Need some spine tilt at set up and the intent to hit up with the swing. It's the same swing otherwise.

Already have Dr Schols in the bag to see.

Attack angle was killing me off the tee. I went and got a lesson for the first time in my life a couple weeks ago to figure out my driver and boy has it changed my game. I tend to play the ball further back in my stance than I should and I knew that wasn't ideal but when I try to play the ball up with the driver I have a tendency to hook the ball. I hit high irons which I'm fine with but I didn't have a penetrating ball flight off the tee so I wasn't getting any roll. After seeing myself on video and looking at the numbers, it all came back to my attack angle being too steep. The tweaks we made were moving the ball just inside front heel, a straighter lead arm, elevated front shoulder, focusing on swinging up at contact, and extension. I'd say on average I've added a good 25-35 yards to my drives.
