Any members here? Thinking about joining.

I play it somewhat routinely. If youv'e never played the course make sure you do it first before joining. Its tough and quirky to me. Not for everybody.

Have a buddy who joined two weeks ago. He seems to enjoy it.

I hadn't played it in a long time but for several years, I played it 3 or 4 times a year. I have always had depth perception problems there. It's tighter than you'd expect as well

Yeah. I played out there a year or two ago and remember it being tough with no great driver holes.

Might need to try it out again.

Also, like the club Corp option for playing other courses.

I used to be a club Corp guy. I remember conditions being great and very unique layout. I also remember the course being pretty ****in difficult. Especially off the tee.

We have a poster on here who's a member and I feel like a dick for forgetting his handle

Back when Moby Dick was a minnow, I played Falcon Point as a Freshman in high school in a JV tournament. Shot gun start… 40* out and the wind was blowing 20+.

I started on 7 (par 3)… I went 7 (quad), 8 (quad), 9 (quad)… 12 over thru 3. My coach opened the clubhouse door about 3" to ask how I was doing. I flashed all 10 fingers and then started to take my shoe off to tell him how many over par I was.

Ended up fighting my way to an 89… 5 over the last 13.

Sidenote… a fellow freshman on my team cheated his way to a 78. He got in a playoff and made a 10 on #1, which oddly enough wasn't good enough.

Moral of the story? Falcon Point can straight up whip your ass if you aren't hitting it where you're looking.

Good club. They upgraded the facilities fairly recently. Course is fairly unique and usually in really good shape. Short but tough. Just shy of 6800 from the back. Water on 17/18 holes. Believe #3 is only purely dry hole.

Cant speak for the true current situation as we dropped our membership a couple of years ago. The course is an acquired taste, and I enjoyed it more each time I played it. Probably had a lot to do with learning the quirks of the place, where you just absolutely can't hit it, how best to play certain holes to avoid blow ups (#5 was that hole for me). Bunkers were redone after Harvey, greens redone about a year ago I believe. Usually kept in good shape, but don't expect perfection.

Great group of guys, a lot of good players, although I think a handful of regulars went over to Pine Forest shortly after we stopped our membership.

I'm a member. Others have it right, it's a tight, unique course. Makes other courses seem easier when you play them. All greens are elevated and protected so there is no bump and run, you must hit them on the fly if you want GIR.

Let me know if you have any specific questions or want to play if you decide to join.

I've only been out there once for a junior tournament last summer. I thought the clubhouse area/bar was decent, but course wise it might have been the worst layout I had ever seen. They also were in the middle of re-doing all their greens on one nine (which we did not play).

With a hard L to R wind and the "right" miss, the water left of 4 is in play off 3 tee. I've seen it happen, and almost done it myself. Part of the reason I stopped hitting driver on 3 unless it's dead into the wind. Sneaky tough hole.

seriously? No way water should be in play for anyone on that hole......#4 is a different story.

With my blow-out rights, and riding a hard L-R wind, anything is possible.

I've never come close to the water on 3, however I have bailed right onto 3 playing 4

I've hit it in the lake playing #3. More than once. When I was a + hdcp many moons ago! The farther down you get, the more the water cuts in over there too.

Those humps all over the course that Von hagge loved so much can help sometimes, but mostly they repel the ball away from a good outcome.

Hard and fast with a left to right wind, big right miss with a big bounce, the water on 4 is in play off 3 tee for sure. Everything on 4 slopes that direction too. I've hit a draw on 4 that landed in the middle-ish of the fairway that ended up wet left. The ball just rolls and rolls that direction on the left side of that fairway.

That's how a lot of guys play 4, especially into the wind or with a hard R to L wind. Same for number 6. Driver right over the humps between 5&6 into the fairway on 5. Gives a good angle to a back pin.
