I'm a Pro-V guy, but for years at a time I find other nuggets I like as well or better. Used to like Bridgestone E-3s, and I've tinkered with Vice a bit.

I've had to switch to yellow/lime as I had lens replacement surgery and I can't follow the white ones as well against the sky and clouds. Swing speed with driver is in the 105-110 range.

Anybody got any balls that they like as well as Pro-V? Obviously I'd love to find some $30 dozen balls I like as well as the $50 Pro-V dozens.

I like Vice but they scuff too easily. Haven't tried Trust or latest Bridgestone balls.

I really like the TaylorMade TPix, but I'm unaware if they sell them in lime.

Srixon Z star, can find the previous year model on Amazon prime for 30 dollars a dozen brand new. Just as good as a prov1.

I tried a bunch of different balls recently in the $30-35 range to see if there were any I liked Vice Pro, Callaway ERC, Bridgestone e6, and Taylormade Tour Response, etc. It's Vice by a mile for me, even though like you said, the green ones do scuff super easily. None of the others have the same feel as a premium ball imo, especially off the tee. I was just overall very impressed with the Vice balls.

If I had to pick from the others, I'd probably go with the e6, because they all feel about the same, and the e6's are only like $22.

This board has been high on Snell recently. I have yet to find one out on the course. I find the Kirkland ones occasionally, but every time I play one it ends up OB within 2-3 strokes. I like the Srixons.

Bridgestone makes their e6 and e12 in yellow/green. I find them impossible to find in the rough so I don't care for them. But maybe you can see those better.

I don't play enough golf to worry much about golf balls but I have a son with a plus handicap and a college golf scholarship. He plays Snell MTB-X. I pay about $30/dozen and that includes shipping to the front porch.

I have been a Pro V1x player for a number of years, but I really love the AVX ball now. It is so good.

I have tested them all on simulator. High end Urethane balls are all similar. X versions are like all X versions and non X are all alike.

Sure they may feel different.

Would I pay $50 for a dozen ProVs? F no.

I buy previous years premium balls on sale from golfballs.com and also use $20 coupons per order. I end up paying $15 to $20 per dozen including shipping and I load up.

So it's been yellow Srixon Zstars, chromesofts, Bridgestone BRX...

And I've posted how to find golfballs.com coupons before.

I went from the AVX to the Top Flight "GAMER". Before you start laughing, I'm a 2.1 HC and love this ball. Its long and workable. Say what you want, bit it's a great golf ball.

I'm a 7.4 index and have been playing the Titleist Tour Soft. I like the feel of the ball and the "T" alignment on it. Tried the Srixon, TM and Callaway, but like the Titleist best

They are $35/dozen

I'm similar to the poster several above me. I will only play a tour level ball, but no way in hell am I shelling out $45 a box for them. Most tour balls across all brands basically play the same to me.

Snell gets a lot of love on here, and a scratch golfer friend of mine plays them. However, I've yet to purchase any.

I'm high single digit player with an average swing speed and for the past six months or so I've been gaming the Maxfi tour ball that d I c k s sells. They are always running specials for two boxes for $35 or similar to that plus whatever coupon codes you have. I think they make them in yellow. They perform great and check up on the greens just like a proV would.

Besides the maxfli srixon's are my ball since as already mentioned you can get the previous year models online for under $30 a box.

Ballz don't matter a hill of beans until you are a 8 handicap or less. I beat guys playing more expensive ballz all the time.

And I like that.

I like the Maxfli Tour as well. But I bought them when they were 2 for $50 all the time. 2 for $60 isn't as much of a steal, when I guess some people find other tour balls on closeout for that.

Originally I went to the Maxfli because I got horrible driver distance with the Costco 3 piece balls.

There's a V2 of Costco ball out now and I'm going to try those. I've hit them at the par 3 course and like them. Need to try them with the driver but I hope they work out. $12.50/doz is just too cheap.

This 1000%

I normally stand by that if your not a single digit HC the ball you play prob doesn't matter much because the ball isn't being struck consistent enough for it to do what it's supposed to do often enough....this is more to say don't buy $50 a dozen balls. Playing the same ball probably helps but premium balls aren't worth it until your striking the ball well

I've posted this story before

Friend (pro golfer) of a friend (well known PGA Tour player) conducted an experiment. 2 kinds of prototype Callaway balls that were unmarked (this would be like hitting prov1 and prov1x)... With his track man set up on the range my buddy would tee up the ball and PGA Tour player would hit it with his driver. The PGA player could not consistently identify which ball was which.

I certainly believe it.

Even though I play a premium golf ball, I usually get the mint condition Pro V1x or AVX from lostgolfballs, com. I pay around $2/ball and they are great, Plus, the company is owned by an Ag. I'm just can't justify paying $50 per dozen.

A friend in our Sunday money group was at Academy last fall in Fort Worth, and one of their Associates was marking golf balls down in price, She told him these yellow balls are going on sale for $16.99 per dozen. The golf balls were Titleist AVXs (normally priced at $47.99/dozen). He bought every single dozen they had in stock!!
