Anyone ever played and stayed here? Any tips for travel?
Looking at potentially going as a guys trip next spring.

The first playlist is mostly Bandon. Also, the Bandon Dunes website is pretty useful.

Bandon is an outstanding golf trip. Whether it's a great guys trip depends on if the guys on the trip actually love golf.
Some people's idea of a golf trip is going to Myrtle Beach, riding around in a cart getting wasted for a few days. Bandon is not going to be a great time for people who are expecting that.
I figure you probably have an idea of what it's like but one of my trips my buddy and I overheard a group at the restaurant *****ing about there not being carts and no nightlife. Kinda funny. Like these dudes booked it without even googling it.
If you love the kind of experience you get at Bandon (no frills links golf, walking, caddies, etc) there might not be a better trip. In a lot of ways it's a better trip than Scotland.
If I had six months to live I'd probably carve out a week for a Bandon trip.

Just curious but how much are the green fees at Bandon? Are they ridiculous or are they somewhat reasonable?

Thanks for the heads up on availability! We are both military and moving this summer starting new jobs. Unfortunately, have to wait until we get to our new jobs in June to figure out timing.
What's the best way to get there? Fly to Portland and rent a car or fly into local airport?
Did you all do caddies and what was the cost for that?
Any ballpark for price per day, two rounds, food and drinks?
Thanks guys!

First post off my 6 month ban.
Bandon is Awesome. Make sure you bring your own liquor as it is expensive if you are staying there.

so you still get a caddy, but you just use the pushcart and then it costs $60/per round for the caddy?cablinaggie said:wildmen09 said:

Last month, we (wife and her aunt/uncle) flew into Portland and drove the 4.5 hours down and stayed in Coos Bay. Not doing that again, Bandon is a guys trip through and through. You can fly United from IAH to OTH (in Coos Bay) now, with a stop in SFO.
Definitely did caddies, but rented a 2-wheel pushcart ($5) rather than have them carry. If they carry, it's $100/bag + tip, if you carry or push your own, it's $60 per person.
Sheep Ranch was $280, Old Mac on Day 2 was $230, Preserve on Day 2 was $75 (half price).
I did not.cmk10 said:
Makes sense. I'll be right there w that amount. Did you change shoes in between rounds? We are going end of August for 3 days playing 36 each.
