Looking to start some golf lessons with one of the instructors at Memorial Park in Houston, not a beginner to the sport but play like one. Just trying to go from shooting in the 110s to the 90s for a more enjoyable experience and to feel more comfortable playing in scrambles and the like.

Anyone have experience with or recommendations regarding any of the pros listed on their website?

Glenn Childers
Chuck Silva
Jay Thomas
John Gibson
Todd Eccles
Willie Shankle
Robert Olson
Chip Craig
George Glauser
Tim Krumnow

Thanks in advance, fellas.

The only "paid" lessons I've ever had were with John Gibson. I know John is good for good players. The lessons I got from him were just tweaks, but he was really good for me. At the time I was playing high school golf and he got me from playing pretty dang well to REALLY well. The guy himself strikes it as well as a tour player. He would've made a living playing the game if only he could putt when the lights came on

He mostly teaches tournament players, from what I know. So I'm not sure how he'd relate to the 110's player trying shoot in the 90s. I don't say that to be arrogant. There are just teachers who specialize helping particular levels of player.

I recommend Todd Eccles. I took lessons from him about 10 years ago and learned a lot. He a good fundamental teacher and a nice guy.

I've taken lessons with Robert Olsen a handful of times. Pretty funny guy who's a good instructor for someone at your level of play. Doesn't over-complicate things and gives you enough stuff to work on for a good while. Also used to teach Bronson Burgoon when he was younger and has a bunch of golf ties in the Houston area. Think he also used to be an assistant golf coach at UH? Either way, enjoy lessons with the guy.

Same question here. I'm an 8, so it's not much different for me, but seems like Robert might be one for me to look into.
