#1 player in the world and won 5 times last year. Yep...he's just a "good" PGA Tour player. Doesn't say much for everybody else on the PGA Tour.

Since his life was turned upside down years ago on the world stage, he has been a shell of his former self. That whole thing triggered his descent. He has been relatively hot lately though and definitely had a very good year.

Under a diff user name back after everything went down, I said he would probably never be the same going forward and was slammed. Most were saying he would bounce right back and return to his former self.

Golf is such a mental game. A slight breeze or a bird chirping can jack up a good golfer's shot. Imagine what being exposed in front of the world, in the manner in which he was, could do to your golf game. You go into a slump because you are just not there mentally (understandably, after pictures of new mistresses are coming out in the national and foreign media daily and your wife wants nothing to do with you). You are completely unhappy with your game and start to go to great lengths to tweak it in every manner possible and begin to focus way too much on the technical stuff vs. your natural swing. You begin to be plagued with minor and major injuries as a result...

Would be tough to climb back completely from that. I really hope he can somehow do it, even though I am far from a fan. He is fun to watch when he is playing like his old self.

He needs to tell Foley to kick rocks. That swing is breaking him down.

I think tiger quit being tiger at the 2009 pga when some guy named YANG beat him. Sure, all the stuff that came later didn't help, but that sunday afternoon he lost what made him so great...he's invincibility.

Didn't he switch to Foley to save his knee? Or was it just because Haney was no longer making since for him? can't remember now. Maybe he needs to look at his workout schedule and get a different trainer.

I think Tiger switched from Haney because (1) Tiger is a constant tinkerer looking for the next improvement and thought he'd run his course with Haney and (2) in Tiger's mind, Haney was overly enjoying and maximizing his Tiger fame by getting himself in the spotlight a little too much.

Agreed Danny. I think he needs to go back to Butch Harmon. Tiger changed his swing so he could stay healthy but the only thing that has down is limited his power and hasn't prevented him from re injuring himself. He's still won of the best iron players there is, but he lost a lot of advantage when he stopped crushing the driver.

Sounds great, the commentators will have to find another love affair!

Agree that if you had to pick one thing that marks a turning point, it was Y.E. Yang. His eagle chip on 14 was the shot across the bow and the hybrid on 18 was the dagger. Things haven't been the same since.

Tiger is still the best in the world, but when it comes to majors Yang changed the game more than any other one thing in my opinion.

Tiger won't go back to anyone. Harmon enjoyed his Tiger publicity too much as well, which helped lead to Haney.

It's not that easy.
