made a crazy putt on 17 that got him over the top.

I watched that putt on TV. Probably 50-ft with a pronounced break that Jeff almost had to go into the fringe of the green to get it to the hole. Afterward, he told the TV interviewer that he was just trying to "lag it close."
The TV guys -- both pro golfers whose name I cannot recall -- opined that Jeff had the game and the demeanor to succeed at the senior level, more so than he did on the PGA Tour.
