Playing there Saturday. Is it worth a crap?

Lots of elevation changes (do not walk). It is very tight with tree lines, but still a fun layout. Was in pretty good shape when I played, but that was almost 10 years ago.

One of my favorite courses out in the area. Especially for the price. My boss is a member at UT Club but when we want to mix things up we go to Crystal Falls and it is equally as challenging i'd say.

It had a bad rap for years. A good super combined with money has done wonders. It is still a tough track. But they have smoothed out the edges and the greens are typically in great shape.

It gets several degrees cooler out there because of the terrain. So a couple of 25 degree mornings means they should be quick on Saturday. Two very dramatic elevation changes on par 3's. Overall, if you have a reliable 200-225 club off the tee it is a manageable course. But if you try to manhandle it, you're in for a long day. And be sure to play to the high side of fairways. Not many flat landing areas.

Gripping it and ripping it doesn't work as well there as playing target golf does.

Especially if you are unfamiliar with the course.



I've seen several golfers run out of balls when playing at Crystal Falls.

Worse course known to man. Bring 2 dozen balls.

Be prepared to have your putting game humbled, wicked greens...at least for me anyway.

We ended up changing it to Avery Ranch. Appreciate the info from everyone. May try it next time.
