Anyone in CO ever played the course where the Solheim Cup was staged? That place looked really nice. I loved the views in the background on some of the holes they showed.
I haven't played it, but it's 12 miles from my house. What's crazy is that it is probably either 4th or 5th in terms of nicest courses within 20 minutes.
-Castle Pines Golf Club & Cherry Hills Country Club have more history & are much prettier courses. I have not played either of these courses.
-The Sanctuary is probably my favorite course, even though I only get to play it once a year.... immaculate, beautiful, tons of elevation changes, and there are only 2 members (ReMax founder and his wife). It's basically heaven on earth.
-Pradera: I've heard it's pretty similar to Colorado Golf Club. Both seem to be the middle of nowhere/not as pretty type of courses that present a tough test of golf with some great holes.
-Ridge at Castle Pines North: public course, always in exceptional shape, and some really good holes & elevation changes.
Inverness: private, tied in to a resort, excellent greens and overall condition, surrounded by offices/condos/stores... cool location.
While my guess is that CGC is a much better test of championship golf than Inverness and Ridge at CPN (and I'll even mention my home course, Lone Tree, for its views, elevation changes, condition, and lightning-fast greens)..... I really like all 3 of these courses, especially the scenery.
