You want to compare their sophomore seasons?

funny how sips tout the game they were favored to win. VY is a great athlete and dumb as a box of rocks. He'll get drafted, maybe by the third round as a WR and have a good career in the arenaball circuit. Reggie will be a top 5 pick, perhaps the second QB to get drafted this year, and have a rather prolific career as a QB in the NFL.

VY will have thrice the NFL career as reggie

I'm making a reference to y'all needing to be grateful the internet was invented during this streak y'all have.

I remember very distinctly NEVER seeing any sip paraphinalia around Austin during our run.

Like I've always told my sip brethren,... When it's going good for you, you won't shut up...

....when it was going bad for you, you don't show up.

The same can be said for Aggies though you won't admit it. I didn't get to Austin until things started to turn around, but I lived in Dallas before that and it was flooded with people in Aggie gear....these days not so much. Back then there was no question that Kyle would sell out...now not so much.

Aggies are like Tech, they will sell out 2 games per year.

astnag, apparently you're confused. What you've done is compared Reggie's sophomore year with Vince's freshman year. What was asked of you was to compare Reggie's sophomore year (2003) with Vince's sophomore year (2004). Would you like to try again?

The funniest thing about this thread is how astnag twisted it. It started out being just about Young, and his first comments were about how "before the Rose Bowl, horns were worried that young might not cut it at QB," and how afterwards we think he's a good one. When I point out that it wasn't just the Rose Bowl that allowed us to have confidence in Vince, astnag turns it into yet another Reggie/Vince comparison thread. What was the matter, astnag? Did you feel so insecure that you had to bring reggie into the discussion? Yes, Reggie was a much better passer last year. Would you like a cookie? What does that have to do with your original myopic statement? You guys can keep your better passing quarterback. We'll keep Vince and win our 6th in a row over your team on our way to another BCS Bowl game.

First try: Vince cant throw, all you do is need to stack the box to stop Texas.

Third try: Reggie has a terrible O-Line (that explains why he got sacked 8 times in one game!) but good recievers. So we will only compare our good recievers to Texas' bad recievers, and compare the passing game because it favors us. We wont compare leadership, we wont compare record, we wont compare head-to-head matches, we wont compare records based on experience... we will moral victory this to death.

I compared stats of Young vs McNeal against opponents we both played that yr?
Why would I compare his stats next yr against Reggie's stats last year, how would I compare what he did against common opponents??
Also, I used McNeal as my comparison because This is Tex AGS... AGS> so I used an Aggie QB??
But, use any QB you would like, it will not help his stats or his throwing motion!!!
I was looking for the big jump in stats you horns were excited about.................................... It didnt happen..
I do believe your O-line helps protect your QB from being sacked.. and so should you!
I do believe a heisman candidate runningback helps your offensive production and takes pressure off of the QB... and so should you!
I do believe LIMA BEAN and the other "stone hands" tu has suck, and A&M has superior receivers.. and so should you! These are not transparent details to anyone but sips!

Yes Aggie has better recievers. Thus with that in mind, Aggie should put up better number in the passing game. Guess what, it shows.

Texas has better Ground Game and O-Line. Thus we dont have to throw it often because we can move the ball at will on the ground. Compare Texas' ground game vs Aggie ground game and guess what, it will show.

The point which you didnt get, is that teams match up differently and will have differing stats based upon their strengths. Texas has the stats in the ground game. Aggie has them in the passing game. If comparing a Junior passing QB and a Sophmore running-QB in the passing game seems realistic then you should have paid attention more in class. That would be just as stupid as Texas comparing Vince's running game as a sophmore to Reggie's running game as a sophmore and looking for some moral victory out of that.

And having a great back in Cedric Benson can be construed as a factor in so far as to say Cedric's performance may have taken away from Vince's performance. (ALA less need to rely on Vince alone, where as not having a back may have inflated Reggie's stats) Just saying it could be argued.

In the end Ide rather have Vince and you'd rather have Reggie.
