Anyone else find Dusty Dvoracek's picture a little disturbing?

Reminds me of Chris Farley in Billy Madison.

I think that's one of Conan's "If They Mated" pictures of Chris Farley and Kid Rock.

Ryan McBean who has yet to take a D1 snap is on that list. What a joke.

He was the top ranked defensive player at the JUCO level last year. I'd say he's got a pretty good chance of being 2nd team all-conference.

That doesnt change the fact that hes never taken a division 1 snap before. Just because he tore up OSU's ****ty OL in spring ball doesnt mean jack. Johnny Jolly has been a consistent performer for two years now as a starter and he gets shafted by an alchie with a torn bicep and a guy who has yet to even lace it up.

One of the most difficult tasks for Oklahoma coaches is instructing their players how to put their helmets on correctly.

GOATS WILL NOT BE PROVIDED, YOU MUST FURNISH YOUR OWN GOAT.

Jolly is a solid tackle, but just because you've played two seasons on a talent depleted team doesn't mean you're a better player than someone who hasn't. Okam is a much better tackle... he might already be better than Wright, but he's not going to start due to playing with two seniors that will be first day draft selections. Even still, he would make that list before Jolly would.

Okam is another guy who should be on it over McBean. You can also add Red Bryant and several others to that list. McBean may end up being an AA this year, but its still silly to put him on any lists like these straight out of JUCO. You never know how guys will adjust to live game situations. If it were an Aggie player I bet you and a lot of other horn fans would have a huge problem with it.

sodium....

why are you so high on the rivals BS?

I never said I agreed with it all or like it particularly much. I just post it because it is a point of discussion, just like someone linking something from cfn, scout, sportsline, etc. I know aggies think it's biased but then again anytime any media says Texas players are good aggies think it's biased. We can disagree on some of the selections, but that's kind of the point. What, in your mind, makes what the national rivals site releases bs?

Jabi: I look at this stuff as predictions of who will be the best players in the conference. Having watched film on him, I would not be surprised at all if he's a first or second team all-conference DT this year. He might not have been smart enough to make it into division 1 out of high school, but the kid can play. Of course, there's also the chance that he will be a bust. That's why these are just projections, imo.

your right, we can agree on some selections, and disagree on others, thats not an Aggie thing or t-sip thing, my point is that you seemed pretty quick to defend the list as is.

and yes, i do think it has a tu slant.
coastalAg

Agree to disagree then. It is my opinion that you should have to show something on the field first as a D1 ball player before you start racking up preseason accolades like that.

I agreed with the selection of one player because I think he will be good enough to be placed on the first team, but I wouldn't put him there because of the reasons jabi listed. Being placed on the second team makes sense to me.

Honestly, why do you think that? I've heard that aggies don't like how Texas' recruits are always ranked so high, and how they say Texas' players are good, but don't the results on the field tend to back that up? Don't you think that the success Texas is having (we're the best we've been since the early 80's) might have something to do with the fact that we're bringing in talented players? Also, if Rivals was really slanted, then there's no way Texas would have been ranked behind A&M 2 out of the past 3 years.

i am very aware that tu is having a very good run right now and it frusterates the hell out of me. to consistently be ranked in the top 10 you have to have good players, and with the success comes accolades. however, it is easy to over-do the accolades. (see Jason White winning the Heisman) i can say that some of those picks could go either way...between first and second team, and that some people are excluded/included that are questionable to me. all i am saying is that b/c of tu's recent success perhaps a few players get nods b/c they play for tu. but hey, everyones biased.

This list is pretty weak.

Just for example,

Appel:

Bednarik Defensive Player of the Year watchlist:

I'm not saying Huff doesn't deserve it, but Daniel Bullocks. Give me a break. Rivals IS part of the bmoc, sometimes it's just more obvious than others. But, like you said, that's why you posted it and we can all tear it apart.

I like to get out of the shower, dry off just a little bit so that I don't make gold bond paste and then cover the chode and my ballsack. Then I smile as the little elves breathe their elf breaths on my nuts with their magic kisses.

Makes me feel like Frodo or something.

Yah, when I was little, my older brother told me all the cool guys put gold bond on. Well, wanting to be extra cool, I used half the box. After the burning and redness settled down and my brother quit laughing, he told me to use less. Thanks bro!

I haven't touched the stuff since that fatelful day, nor do I have any plans to do so. I just thought it was a hilarious quote, but no little elf breaths will be blowing anywhere near my hut, unless I want her to.

Your post is misleading, Appel is not "Media Pre-Season AA first team", he was named to "Blue Ribbon's" AA team. Quite a difference.

Obviously, an unbiased combination of analyst who print a nationwide yearbook has nothing to do with media. Hell, dirt burglar, play-by-play, print media, coaches and scouts all trust them. Seems pretty credible and clear to me.

"The ultimate authority on college football."
-- Kellen Winslow, Fox Sports Net college football analyst

quote:
"I can’t think of a sport that needs Blue Ribbon’s special touch more than college football."

And these sponsors probably think it's a big difference to:

Sponsors:
Ambrose Printing

Franklin American
ESPN

So Rivals listing Daniel Bullocks shows they're biased towards Texas how?
