Actually a very inspiring read with his later success at Appalachin State. I think the big city lights of Lubbock and coaching a high profile school was just a bit much for him.

Oct. 5 will be the 20th anniversary of Jerry Moore's nadir at Texas Tech. Without a moment's hesitation, Moore singled out the 1985 Tech-Texas A&M game as his low point.
"That was the low point not only at Lubbock, but maybe my entire coaching career,'' Moore said.
The game is infamous in Tech annals for Moore's indecision at the end of a 28-27 home loss. With his team moving toward a late touchdown, Moore made up his mind to kick the extra point and salvage a tie for the underdog Red Raiders.
But in the heat of the moment, Moore decided to go for two and the victory. Out of timeouts, dogged by a chaotic sideline and unable to get the right personnel on the field, Tech took a delay-of-game penalty, still went for two from the 8-yard line and failed.
