And, the ORIGINAL purpose of the doo rag has nothing to do with "looking cool". It is to give waves to your hair. For many young, Black males they can comb their hair and it naturally forms "waves". This shows that your hair is healthy, and usually a status symbol of "good hair". Those who can't naturally form waves may wear a doo rag b/c the humidity from the heat rising from the top of your head under the "stocking-style" doo rag cap can give someone waves if the doo rag is worn regularly. Now go back and share this info with your uninitiated friends
