The fact that they were the ONLY team tu faced all year that couldnt find a way to change their gameplan to at least contain VY speaks volumes about their piss poor defense and coaching.

Despite the fact that VY average over 100 yards rushing per contest during the five games leading up to the Rose Bowl?

Okay, let me rephrase: UM and Tceh are the only two schools who couldnt find a way to stop Radio, however you can't blame Leach, no one has ever taught him what defensive scheming is. No other team came CLOSE to giving up 4 rushing TDs too VY besides Tceh (who the most non defensive minded coach in CF) and Michigan. Rushing yards mean little when talking about QBs. If a QB has 200 rushing yards and no TDs, his team likely lost because he wasnt throwing many TDs either.

CE Aggie,

Let's just say (to the Horns) at that time, Nebraska was perceived to be invincible at Lincoln if they were playing us.

e - You obviously don't read this board much or you would realize that UT hasn't had any big wins under Mack Brown. Any win by UT under Mack Brown is by definition "not a big win".

Try to keep up so you won't ask dumb questions. Otherwise you will become known as the Aggie pen seller.

and yet if the field goal hadn't gone through they would now be looked at as horribly underrated.

Your reasoning about rushing yards and touchdowns doesn't make any sense. So Okie St stopped Vince when they held him to 130 yards rushing and 18/21 passing for 278 yards because he personally didn't score a lot of touchdowns? How about when Vince runs for 19 yards on 4th & 18 against Kansas? Does that mean nothing because he didn't score a touchdown? Touchdowns aren't the only barometer...I bet you like Reggie over VY, even though VY was involved with 26 total touchdowns and Reggie was involved with 22.

I never said they were the only barometer, I simpyl said that a QB who runs for alot of yards but cant throw well isnt that great of an asset.

D- Thats funny because he, (Nordgren) was offered by Texas ATM to play QB in the Big 12. You must have no faith in Fran at all...

One of our biggest wins against NU was evened out by our loss to a&m in 99. I thought Mack gave that game away and it is haunting him ever since. If we win we were heading to the Big 12 title game with momentum and probably would have beaten NU again, BCS bowl, and OU wouldn't be what it is today. Just my opinion.

Dub - just killing time until kickoff. Besides, we're not getting many good football threads on here lately.

Frantastic -- Why don't you post the real exchange there? Go ahead. Took some liberties with this, didn't you?

This just shows everything you post is questionable.

Frantastic, I wouldn't bring up that other thread if I were you. Anyone with reading comprehension knows that was YOUR mistake. You are really getting desperate to claim victories. BTW, why did you insert the parenthetical in the quotations?

Edit: MacD beat me to it. Screwing up, failing to own up to it, then changing a quote on another thread to justify position - really pathetic.

Oh, I just remembered. MacD and I can't correct Frantastic. He has an "L" by his name and we just have "A"s. I can't wait until I grow and get my L so I can get owned and then jump threads, change the quotes, and claim victory.

FXST,

Fair enough - guess I am just looking at it from my point of view. Nebraska was still a giant when you guys went up there and beat them...just in my mind, not so big of one.
Skihorn

As to the Neb game, they were still a giant at home. Even after we beat them, they then started another long home winning streak. So it wasn't like we were just the first of many to expose them as no longer being great. The other thing about that game was how little chance we were given. We had just been destroyed by UCLA and KSt and had yet to accomplish anything under Mack. Plus Neb was suppposedly not going to overlook us because of our upset two years earlier. No one gave us any chance (including myself) and Lee Corso predicted Ricky wouldn't even finish the game.

So, a case can be made for that game because it was the first big win under Mack and so little was expected. Now we win a BCS game and we are chided for not covering the spread. My how far we have come.

e=mc2: Just noticed your follow-up question. A win at OhioSt would be big but there are several mentioned on this thread that would still be bigger. Beating OU, especially if we both go into that game undefeated and OU is looking like they are making another run, would be really big and might go to the top of my list. To finally get the OU monkey off AND have the inside track to the MNC (assuming we had beaten OSU) would be numero uno. OTOH if OU is showing a lot of signs of really struggling this year then a victory over them, while still big, will not necessarily be number 1 on my list.
