VY vs. OSU 2004

VY ran 12 times for 130 yards for a 10.2 average.

VY completed 18-21 passes for 278 yards and 1 TD.

As I said before, he also managed to complete a Texas record for consecutive passes. While the OL certainly had something to do with the success Texas had that night, I don't know how anybody that was truly being objective couldn't honestly say that VY played damn well.

VY also had nothing to do with the Rose Bowl...it was due in large part to a slow, idiotic Michigan defense.

Nobody is refuting that VY didn't play well (if not great) against Michigan.

But he had little to do with the OSU victory.

First of all, I said 4 of the 5 TD drives you mentioned. I'm not counting the 47 yd TD by Ramonce because I'll concede that VY had little to do with that.

Looking at the other 4 TDs, VY either passed or rushed for positive yards in 13/28 plays.

Cedric accounted for positive yards on 11/28 plays on the same 4 TD drives. One play went for no gain, which actually hurts both the OL and Cedric argument.

You credit Cedric, the OL, and the TEs. As I said before, I'll give you the OL. But explain to me how Cedric accounted for less positive plays than VY over the 4 TDs drives, but still managed to carry the team.

While you're at it, maybe you can tell me who made all of the passes to the TEs you gave credit to.

I'm not saying that VY carried the team against OSU. Clearly, CB put the ball in the endzone when they got close. Clearly, Ramonce had a great run for 47 yds. Clearly, the OL played very well allowing CB and VY to run for over 300 yds and pass for nearly the same number. But the fact that you can't admit that VY CLEARLY had a major impact on that game is downright dumb.

A player that accounts for 401 yards of a 600 total yard night might have something to do with the win, ya think?

Please tell me that you are joking. VY had 130 yards rushing against OSU and completed 18 of 21 passes for 278 yards. That is as close to perfect as a quarterback can get.

i don't care what his TD/int ratio are or that he doesn't have the accuracy or arm reggie has, VY is the better QB!!!!

4getaboutit- You are right... VY is black jesus and played a very large role in the victory... without him OSU would have won. Benson didn't do ****; either did the OL or TE. VY passed to receivers in the middle of the field and made excellent passes. The TEs were even a factor. Hell, I think that he lined up with only center some of the time.
