But then he turned it on and played the second best game of his career thus far, leading Texas from 28 points down to win by 21. Crebes is denying that Vince's stellar play had anything to do with Texas's comeback. He is demonstrably wrong.

Texas was almost dead last in passing last year and they finished 11-1 and won the Rose Bowl. They return the best OL in college football with 2 very solid backs and possibly the most dynamic athlete in D1 as QB.

Funny how bad Cedric was when he was playing for Texas, but now that he's gone he was the sole reason that Texas even won a single game. Same old song and dance from the Aggies. And right on cue I might add. It's like clockwork, about 30-40 days from the first game, y'all start getting your hopes up.

Maybe Texas won't be any good this year. Maybe Fran will finally start to produce. Maybe Reggie will win at least one game against Texas. It really is fun to watch. Enjoy another 7-5 season.

what part of 18-21 for 278 yards with 130 yards on the ground do you not understand?

Against CU, McNeal was 23-38 for 243 yards and gained 139 yards on the ground. He accounted for 382 yards of offense out of 532 total yards of offense. Now I'm no football genius, but I would venture a guess that McNeal might have had something to do with that win.

Those are very comparable numbers between what I think are both VERY GOOD QBs. How can you honestly tell me that VY didn't play well against OSU? Breaking passing records and getting named the POTG doesn't really add up to a subpar performance in my book.

My favorite was when Brandi made fun of our Baseball team...We all know how that came out...

Ok if VY beats Michigan with a crappy defense, then what was Reggie's excuse playing a Tennessee team with a crappier defense.

Michigan was ranked 33rd and Texas puts up 38 points. Tennessee was ranked 45th and A&M manages 7 points.

It would appear the the originator of this thread was intentionally attemtping to mislead the readers of the thread by failing to provide the whole link. For good reason. The article gives more praise than criticism.

In any event, it is really amusing to watch the fan of school that has gotten its a$$ handed to it in every major sport for at least the last five years by Texas refer to A&M as Texas' "Daddy." Actually, it is kind of sad.

In any event, for as great as Mr. McNeal is, and I think he really is a better passer (and a better pro QB prospect than VY), I will take VY as he is 17-2 as a starter and engineered some of the greatest games in school history, e.g., the Rose Bowl. And just in case any of you missed it, that is the ROSE BOWL, GRANDDADDY OF THEM ALL!

In any event, I think Texas and the Ags will be good. And I look forward to a great game in B/CS.

Is Young a good QB? For College yes, but he will not play QB in the NFL. He will more than likely be a WR and a very good one at that. I don't see why horns won't see through the crud and recognize this. This doesn't deminish Youngs tallent, but the guy just isn't NFL QB material he is however NFL material and could be the next TO or Randy Moss.

Is Reggie a good QB? Yes, and he will likely get a chance to play QB in the NFL. If he has a season like last year he could be the secound QB taken in the draft.

Reggie had the misfortune of joining a sinking ship, loseing his RS year while a coach tried to save his job, and have to learn a new offense. This same thing happened to a guy playing in the NFL that got a Heisman Trophy by the name of Carson Palmer.

That scout is out of his freaking mind. Young is riding a high from a great Rose Bowl game, but no team in the NFL will want to touch this guy as a QB once he takes his wonderlic and once they see him throw another 10 plus int's next season.

As for Plamer his team did go 11 and 2 including a bowl win I'd think we would be happy with that this year.

Also Texas_Fan, the optimism is high because we played yall pritty good last year at your house with a bunch of RS Fish and we will be much better and at home. I'll wait until we play a few games to start getting excited about T+1, but you can't say that we don't have a shot. You don't know how that defense will play thin at DE and minus one of the best linebackers in the country. You don't know how that offense will play minus the Doak Walker winner. So we'll see how it all pans out.

I am a Texas ex and happy as a pig turnips right now but: There is one point I would agree with. Running quarterbacks in the NFL get hurt and unless they can throw very well they are dead. Unitas was a good runner and got killed for a few years. Later he could hardly walk.

Don Meredith comes to mind.

And Michael Vick has added how many wins on average to Atlanta's totals in the years since he left Virginia Tech early to become the NFL's finest?

One other point: at the time when those posts were put up, Vince had not had the season he just had, where he showed tremendous improvement from last year.

I think it's an appropriate bump considering the Vince bashing that occurred on this website. It's called eating crow, and we're doing it. Oh well.
