Oh, we'll weather it just fine. I am currently in the Atlanta area and my "unhealthy lifestyle" alarms are sounding. Everyone knows that EVOO is better to cook collard greens in than pork fat, but I don't think that message has reached SUC, er SEC country. But I am glad that you give a coprolith that Utah lives in your head rent free.

Well, actually I attended A&M 1978-80 after the Army and had to leave to support my my family. Utah educational opportunities came along a decade later.

Both. Commissioned ROTC out of Tarleton, pursued Masters in History PT at A&M while working, but had to quit.
When I first got to Utah, they struggled to fill a 37,000 seat rundown stadium. 16 years later they were legitimate contenders for a National championship.


Master's at Utah specializing in the Middle East (political economy, history, along some Arabic and Persian language facility).

Yep. Retired now but wrote intelligence assessments which were distributed in the US and Canada to aviation, security and law enforcement customers on all spectrum threats to commercial aviation as part of my LEO duties. Focusing of course, on the Middle East since those were the most salient threats at the time. Worked a lot during the 2002 Winter Olympics on site security for various dignitaries, notably Israeli and Chinese officials. Interesting that countries that have no Winter sports representation, like Israel still send reps but it is part of their IOC obligations, apparently.

The culprit? Utah injuries! Something about Utah (Utiness) brings out the fragility in young men.

To all the Old Rivalries Ute fans out there, I don't like to quote myself. terrible form.
But let's hope I helped soften the blow as I've been advising y'all for months to keep your hopes low about this sad-sack football program of yours. that's SIX (6) consecutive losses. eat the shame wretched utah. eat it eat it ,you're not big-12 worthy. and that's saying something.

This so called "upgrade" experiment has been a miserable failure so far- at least from a football perspective. In fact, it's been so bad, it has even drug down the play of BDF existing members. BYU and UC look like the only "upgrades" with a pulse. LOL, I even remember being told by an unnamed "upgrade" fan there was no way BYU could be good this year.

It's a good thing the committee is forced to take the BDF conference winner.

Yet the Utes have won, IIRC, four conference championships in that time frame, one contested national championship (stolen by the MSM) and two division championships. Sooner or later, Utah's overachieving was bound to catch up with it. So we'll take a tough year and recover.

We did not hire the succession of cash-draining coaches which typified Texas and A&M and when Texas did hire a successful coach, he was a protege of Utah alum (Masters) Lavell Edwards.
