I think tu and their main rival Kansas should start up the Chisolm Trail Rivalry.
tu has a leg up at the moment, with a 3-2 series lead over the past 5 years. And one of those wins was a 2 point nailbiter! Pretty evenly matched teams.

Texas Tech will soon be part of the Mississippi River Rivalry, playing their football games against Cincinnati in Kansas City. Lubbock's about a ten-hour drive while Cincinnati's a niner.
Did you mean the Red River Friendship? The one week a year where sips and sooners act like they hate each other,then go back to being buddy buddy the rest of the year. All while claiming to be the greatest rivalry in all of sports.

tech has to go this route for midweek games because few teams that won't kill their SOS are willing to travel to Lubbock.
Maybe if the tards had been focused on the upcoming weekend series against TCU instead of this faux rivalry, they might have avoided being swept by the Frogs.

It happens in college baseball that conference foes sometimes face each other in games that are not part of the league slate and hence don't count in the conference standings. Ole Miss and State face each other in a midweek game every year. Auburn and Bama have also be known to do so..BLSD said:

I was in Amarillo that day. The weather man cooperated by filling the sky with plenty of red dirt thanks to that gentle 50 mph breeze. It did calm down some that evening for the game for one of those glorious Panhandle evenings...
