Austin radio said they have 448 employees in the Athletic department and 500 student athletes.
Whoa.
It is in the article, as well.
Quote:
According to salary data previously obtained by the Statesman, the UT athletic department had 448 full-time staff members with an aggregate base salary total of approximately $47.3 million. The Longhorns typically have more than 500 athletes, creating almost a 1:1 ratio, something unheard of in major college athletics.
It is interesting. If they spend $47.3M on salary, alone... that should be troubling.
Aside from the Sips and OU, let's look at the other
school's revenue:
Certainly older information...
3. WV: $105M (26th)
4. OkieLite: $93.7M (37th)
5. KU: $90M (38th)
6. Tech: $83M (42nd)
7. Iowa St: $78M (48th)
8. K-State: $78M (49th)
Baylor and TCU don't report.
Sips spend on salaries alone, almost 50% what 4 of the BXII schools generate for the AD.
You have Sips & OU and everybody else. There is no excuse the Sips and OU shouldn't be 1, 2 in every sport.
