If the salesperson doesn't want to be accused of being a racist so they stay away from the customer, they're 'racist' because they're 'ignoring the customer because they're black'. As for closing shop during the Texas Relays, there are tons of high school kids that come in for that event. Retailers don't say no to money, regardless of the color of skin that hands it over. If they're closing, it is because they've determined it is cheaper to be closed and have no income coming in than it is to be open and deal with losses because of shoplifting, theft, and vandalism by stupid high school and college kids.

There are a lot of shops and restaurants in downtown Dallas that shut down during OU-texas weekend. Are they all racists, too?

All that being said, I hope this is distributed to every recruit by A&M and OU. No point in letting good negative propaganda go to waste.

The people who are angry about this should be asking more questions about why a store manager/owner would rather shut down and make no money than having people there who could harm their business. My bet is the stores have learned this from past experience.

If you ask the partygoers it's because they got scared of the increased police presence.

There's a reason my black ass prefers San Antonio over that hive of scum and villainy known as austin. Only place in the USA I've ever been called the N word to my face by a non-black person and had it meant as a pejorative (i.e., "hard 'r'").

Interestingly, though, I've never been followed in a store. Not once. And I'm an observant mofo, too.

Might help that I dress decently and don't act a fool, idk.

Your observation is spot on.

See, Tsips act like they live in a nice liberal tolerant community. I've lived here 20 years and can say this as fact. I've lived in deep east Texas, College Station, Lubbock and Austin in my life. Austin is the most segregated place I have ever lived in, and it's not even close.

Watch them march down Congress with their signs about equality.

Then go to a game between Lake Travis and Westlake.

The next week, go to a game between LBJ and Reagan.

These are the biggest racist hypocrites you will ever meet.

My kids go to Bowie. A very good blend of all races. They won't go anywhere else no matter how good they turn out to be in football or anything else.

I feel like those who constantly feel the need to crow about how tolerant/progressive/inclusive they are are the ones who are usually least tolerant in practice.

The most racism I've ever had thrown my way has been from the so-called "tolerant" types. And austin is awash with them.
