Tech fired the best cfb coach (Leach) they ever had. Now they wanna fire his protege KK but they would owe him $6m according to some newspaper reports.

Does Tech have $6m ?

It is hard to recruit there. Waco and BCS are also dumps but they are close to some attractions. You have to drive a couple of hours from Lubbock to get to Amarillo or Midland.

So they get the west Texas guys the big schools don't want and some undersized guys or ones from tiny schools. Hard to recruit against the big dogs

I lived in Lubbock for a year before I got used to it, so recruiting trips don't last long enough

It wasn't the kicking game, per se. It was bad coaching decisions that prevented the kids from even having a chance to win. Just like his mentor Sumlin, he decided that running out the clock (and going to a tie in this case) was better than attempting to actually run a play that might generate a score.
