I use the term pathological liar just to name the skit from John Lovitz, and I focus a whole lot on his catch phrase, "Yeah, that's the ticket". I focus on it so much, I describe it and compare it to exact scenarios where Charlie basically exhibits the same behavior in a media setting. I don't think I could spell it out any easier. It appears everyone except RV Horn gets the comparison. Reminds me of something very apt...

Making it up as you go along is what you do. You enter a situation and react to what others do. You don't have a plan or coherent thought so you end up finding yourself backed into corners and claiming "I meant to do that".

No one is accusing you of being intentionally deceptive. You're just a half witted moron whose fate is in the hands of others.

Similarly, Charlie has no plan. He doesn't have an agenda that he wants to implement. Instead he's left reacting to what the sip propaganda machine churns out. Once Ketch ran stories about Five Core Values and Putting the T back in Texas, Charlie claimed "I meant to do that"

By comparison when Sumlin was first hired, Liucci et al made a big deal about his "Get a Dog" quote. When asked about if that was going to be his team's motto, he said "Hell no! That was just some throw away line" and no one has heard it again since.

If RV is a woman, this thread makes a lot more sense. If not....
