So, I was driving past Baylor's stadium today when I was forced to drive through Waco (what an armpit).

I noticed they had renamed it:

Form follows Function. Looks like a toilet seat - named accordingly. The essence of design.

I drove by it Saturday.

It's a really nice stadium.

It's also looks very small.

Just remember, two years after a Heisman winner, they decided they had too much space at their stadium. BDF pride.

I dont think I've ever heard of a stadium being built and reducing the seating. I guess they were having trouble finding funding for the tarp.

Although Stanford plays at the same place they spent a fortune to downsize and modernize their stadium.

Oh that tarp will be back. It is who they are.

Looks like a nice little stadium, the bears idiots should be proud of sitting under the rim of the toilet seat where typically the remnants of someone's double bean and guac burrito splatters against.

Cute little place. They certainly upgraded facility and location. Good for them.

Maybe they can get more high school playoff games than Waco ISD now

I don't know why Aggies feel the need to ridicule the new Baylor stadium. It is a great stadium and the right size for Baylor. BU has an enrollment of about 15,000, and the stadium is about the same size as other private universities, such as Duke, Northwestern, and Vanderbilt. It will be a great venue on the Brazos River with (s)ailgating with an easy walk across the campus. It also will be great for the Waco economy. Moreover, with a great coach and top-notch facilities, BU will be a very worthy competitor to tu and probably will hang about 50 on them this year in Austin.

Why will it be great for the Waco economy if it's smaller than what they already have?

It's certainly better than what they had. If the new place is the toilet seat, the old place was the sewer.

I still get a chuckle out of how blue and pristine the Brazos looks in all their renderings.

Those idiots chalk up a smaller stadium to forward thinking leaders who see decreases in college athletic attendance. Not the fact they can't sell a place out without the help of visiting fans.

I don't see how it's a good looking stadium.
The tall, plain white columns are really ugly.

Top 10 Reasons St John Stadium is fair game:

10. It's Baylol
9. It's so itsy bitsy in a high school kind of way
8. It actually pretty ups Waco...
7. The visiting team will still bring more fans
6. Only in Waco is a bass boat considered a yacht for tailgating...
5. It's the crown jewel of BDF stadiums
4. You have peace and quite for three quarters with boos in the fourth
3. It hides the tarp by advanced stealth technology
2. Waco smells like a sewer
1. The stadium looks like a toilet seat.

nothing says minor league football like your conference champ playing in a 45,000 seat stadium. What a joke

I've heard them rationalize it by saying many of them walked about the same distance from their hotel to the Alamodome for their bowl game a few years ago and it was a pleasant stroll. What they don't seem to remember is that the Alamo Bowl is in December, how pleasant is the stroll going to be in August and September. And instead of being a once-a-decade stroll to the Alamodome I can see them getting very tired of making that walk every damn week to McLane Stadium.

for comparison purposes...Floyd Casey had about 4,500 parking spaces. Half were marked. The other half unmarked on the grass/dirt

Good for them, they have installed a porcelin tarp that lowers into position over the upper deck. That's going to make it easier to move when the high schools play there and need extra seating. That's a well thought out plan.

Yea... Because BBQ'ing on a boat sounds safe.

If I still lived in texas I'd grow a mullet, dress up like Kenny Powers, and obnoxiously ride the **** out of a jetski on games days.
