Another game that had questionable calls in the sips favor was a game the sips actually lost. It was the game in Lubbock in 2008 when Graham Harrel and Crabtree hooked up for the winning TD in the final seconds.
Earlier in that game, there was a flag laying on the ground as the tu punt returner fielded a punt. After tu punt returner returned the punt for a TD, the officials mysteriously decided to pick up the flag. That's the only time I can ever remember a flag being picked up on a punt return in all of the years I have been watching football (and I'm 48 which means I've watched a good bit of football in my time). Guess officials must have decided there really wasn't a block in the back on that punt return.
And later in that game there was a phantom offenisive pass interference on Crabtree inside the sip 10 yard line. Tech ended up missing a FG on that possession instead of having the ball knocking on the door for a TD.
Take away both of these situations and that game would very likely have not been nearly as close as it was where the Harrel to Crabtree pass was needed for a Tech win.
