History of refs helping the sips

Another game that had questionable calls in the sips favor was a game the sips actually lost. It was the game in Lubbock in 2008 when Graham Harrel and Crabtree hooked up for the winning TD in the final seconds.

Earlier in that game, there was a flag laying on the ground as the tu punt returner fielded a punt. After tu punt returner returned the punt for a TD, the officials mysteriously decided to pick up the flag. That's the only time I can ever remember a flag being picked up on a punt return in all of the years I have been watching football (and I'm 48 which means I've watched a good bit of football in my time). Guess officials must have decided there really wasn't a block in the back on that punt return.

And later in that game there was a phantom offenisive pass interference on Crabtree inside the sip 10 yard line. Tech ended up missing a FG on that possession instead of having the ball knocking on the door for a TD.

Take away both of these situations and that game would very likely have not been nearly as close as it was where the Harrel to Crabtree pass was needed for a Tech win.

That's the most glaring case, and it's not even close. 3 calls in 3 games in 3 days.

Wow, SourGrapes it says a lot more about you coming on here claiming us to be the "butthurtees" when really you can hardly sleep at night knowing how far texas has fallen, and how successful Texas A&M University is in football once again, only this time unlike the 80s / 90s....A&M is at the big boys' table for good

Go back to sleep, you clearly need it. Oh and by the way, historical smack talk is as pathetic as teaching a pig to drive a car.

Don't you just love it when a team wins the game b/c of the refs 'halftime adjustments'?

It didn't start or accelerate with the hiring of Mack Brown. It's been going on since at least 1959 when I first enrolled at UT. I've always taken it for granted.

Let's go back to talking about how the refs are responsible for your losses. You can use my name.

This thread was started because the refs screwed ISU & OSU. Quit trying to change the subject so you can obsess about Daddy and instead pour some wine out for the poor sisters of the blind who had no better conference option than be screwed by the refs every time they play texas.

In baseball.. Anyone remember the fat umpire Jenkins back in the SWC and early big 12 years?
He lived in Austin and would umpire Texas games all the time.
One time in early 90's during a regional game in Austin, Texas won a game on a controversial balk call and Jenkins made the call.
Later that same year at the CWS Texas was playing Oklahoma state .. Texas tied the game late on another balk call by you guessed it.. Jenkins.

All you're looking at are the calls that went Texas' way. There are plenty that haven't. Just like every other team.

Whine away. It's what losers do when they lose.

The game their entire program uses as their battle cry of greatness. Should have never happened if not for a missed call.

There was a game with an ungodly penalty disparity in Lubbock... think it might have been the trip before the Crabtree game

Was definitely during the Fran years

2006. The Big 12 allows teams to send in video from plays in each game for clarification and evaluation. I think Leach requested the entire game film be evaluated, and the Big 12 evaluation team determined at least 27 plays were called incorrectly in favor of the horns.

Changing sports here, but please don't leave out the HORRIBLE call at home plate in Austin a few years ago (sorry, I can't remember the year...too early) that cost us a trip to Omaha. The whole world saw that replay, over and over!

Several calls went Texas' way that day that have become part of UNT lore. Cash briefly hauled in a 7-yard pass from Kelley in the back of the end zone in the second quarter before dropping the ball.

That play also stood as a touchdown.

And Gross said that wasn't even close to the worst call of the game that went against UNT.

Defensive back Ralph Roberson recovered what he and his teammates thought was a clear fumble by Texas fullback Brian Norris, who officials ruled was down before dropping the ball.
