I am an architect and can confirm your concerns about the scale of the brackets. However there's no real substantive load that is being carried that isn't handled by the wood framing.

That place is confusing to me, does the builder recycle or just keep building the same floorplan long after it was made? The place was built in 2010 but so much of the layout is 10+ years past its time.

When I was looking back in late 2012-early 2013 to buy the house I have now, I saw some pretty awful listings. There was one house - I wish I remembered the address that I could not imagine anyone purchasing (but of course, it sold).

But, now that the market is so crazy, most of what I'm seeing is even worse than that. Except it's not outdated kitchens and carpet in bathrooms, it's "updated" or "upgraded" stuff that Just. Looks. Awful.

I've been keeping a close eye on the market because I can either move in two years or remodel/upgrade what I have. And I'm seeing almost nothing that's worth the asking price. The only exception might be some stuff in East Shore that I can't afford anyway (and some of those houses are terrible, too).

I just can't get over how many people have amazingly bad, but expensive, taste when it comes to home design.

I'm about to list a house in Mansfield, TX and it is supposed to be a hot market, but should I be worried that this gem is still on the market after almost 80 days?

That's a shame. If they could somehow move that house to Coppell or Sugarland it would start a bidding war.
