Crazy how UCLA is thriving with Janiah Barker, they're 9-0, undefeated, and have won every game by double digits

They would've been thriving with or without her. They are loaded with talent. She's in a much different situation coming off the bench and not feeling so much pressure to produce. Much easier to play on a team when surrounded by so many great players. I'm sure she's having a blast. Who knows if she'll ever develop into the kind of player who can lead a team which is what we needed her to be. She landed in a very sweet spot. Good for her.

You're right, but what bothers me here is that posters said we'd be better off without her and that she was a problem in the locker room. Why isn't she hurting UCLA then. Or is that our coaching staff couldnt control her, but UCLA's can? Why is she fine being the 4th or 5th option over there?

I was not on record saying that about her. I actually thought Joni would be a good hire though the record was not there to justify it. I was wrong.

I think Janiah was thrust into a leadership role as a freshman and it just doesn't really suit her personality or playing style. At least it didn't as a freshman / sophomore. She will develop into that (especially on a team and in a program that has taken that pressure off of her).

I tend to agree. Best players arent always your leaders.

Last I heard It was personal with her - she and her girlfriend are now in the same school.

To be fair, have you watched UCLA when barker is in the game? She's ultra talented, but there is a clear lack of basketball IQ with her. UCLA isn't the same team with her on the floor, but she's a nice supplemental piece
