Joni didn't have to schedule two powerhouses to start the year…

16 turnovers while shooting 35% from the field, we allowed 15 offensive rebounds to UTSA. A school with 15 winning seasons in its history in D1. I have no clue how we are going to play SEC teams. We can barely get over 50 against Texas A&M Corpus Christi and the University of Texas at San Antonio. How are we going to score against Texas or LSU or South Carolina. I just hope we can maybe win 10 games this year

Hard fought win! Lots to clean up, but I liked the fight I saw from our team. Parker, Hunt, and Kent showed some promise with their play. Good job by Sahara taking over and getting buckets when we needed them. We've got work to do but I see potential in this group!

Definetely should have phrased that to convey comparatively less confusion not total lack of confusion. And a definite improvement during the last 15 minutes of play.

And I thought Parker being on the floor (even though it is only her second game and she missed a lot of camp with an injury) helped in that matter. She looked very composed.

well it's year 3 of Joni Taylor as the head coach of Texas A&M Women's basketball

- 29-34 (8-24) in conference play
- she lost 7 girls to the portal this off-season
- hasn't been recruiting well out of high school.
- she only recruited one high school player last year after hosting many recruits
- has had more of her high school recruits transfer out than stay in the program (Barker, Bowles, Hylton, Petticord, Marshall)
- only has 11 girls on the roster, 1 is out, so currently at 10 girls
- got embarrassed by Texas A&M Corpus Christi at home in a season opener where we had 20 turnovers (TAMUCC has made the ncaa tourney once in its entire schools history)
- snuck away with a win against UTSA where we were behind most of the second half (utsa has never made the ncaa tournament)
- not sure if we get 10 wins on our schedule this season
- we open sec play with a brutal stretch and won't be favored in any until maybe February when we play Arkansas at home
- have only one girl committed next out of high school and she isn't ranked on any services
- we were projected 13th in the sec preseason coaches poll
- season tickets sales are very very low
