The elephant in the room is that it is mainly a racial/jealousy thing. White giirls don't often care about the sport as much anymore and aren't expected to be the best. Caitlin is stepping on toes.

Weird take. 3 of the top 5 players in college last year were white with Clark, Bueckers, and Brinkley. Ionescu is probably the best player in the WNBA right now

What's going ok right now is really pathetic and Carter is at the middle of it. Even Clark's own team is not defending her. The pathetic and racial insecurities of those players simply amplifies their weakness for the world to see. The rest of us get to see the truth unfold in front of us.

Clark has been a flopper her whole career in college, clearly she is going to continue until the officials stop it.

OMFG. Take off the maroon colored glasses for a second.
To make THAT post after seeing THAT clip means you're an idiot or you didn't watch the clip.
Have you watched Clark's career? I have and she flops all the time. Carter made a dumb play, but that fall was embellished by Clark. F.Y.I., I didn't like Carter's attitude when she was here, anymore than I like it now, but she played a good defensive game on Clark.

Good for you. WTF does that have to do with the topic at hand? If you think the play in question was a flop, you're blind.
I'm good, why don't you stop with all the cursing! I have my opinion and you have your opinion, agree to disagree.
Thanks and Gig'em.

Completely unnecessary for that player to come brush elbows with Clark and I respect the decision to call a tech. For over a year now, a lot of players have been way out of control in harassing Clark and so I can certainly understand why a ref would call that foul to draw the line and make it clear to players that garbage on the court directed at one player will not be allowed.

Chennedy and Caitlin were going after it. Chennedy crossed the line but it's only because it was a non-basketball play that anyone should be concerned about players going after Caitlin. She is one of the worst trash talkers in basketball. Which is how the men play the game, too..

There is a very racist element to basketball right now that is pretty one-sided. Kind of interesting that the pendulum swung that far in 40+ years but it has. You can see it play out in college especially where there are black women coaching, including our own school. Hardly any white players or staff on those teams. It's striking.

They really are pissed that a white girl is getting all this attention and feel they were all overlooked. It's personal to them.

Brought my daughters to watch an A&M women's game and got courtside seats right by the Aggie bench at a very unattended December game. There couldn't have been more than 200 people in Reed that were not working or playing. Those 3 girls cheering for our team the whole game and completely ignored by every player and coach before, during, and after the game. And I know that would not have happened if they would have been 3 little black girls. Odd strategy for a sport that needs to grow fans to survive. Do not tell me there's not a bad racism problem in women's ball.

Chennedy's foul was over the line but not all that bad. Her response after the game is what shows her ass bigtime though. Bush league answer. Cardoso's eyeroll and scoff and the coach immediately deflecting show they all hate Clark getting any attention.

Is this recent? I have courtside season tickets and Joni has all her players go up into the stands postgame to thank fans for coming. They are also very accessible at their tunnel postgame.

Several of them walked right past us and talked to a couple people way further up, one of them a young black girl. But not the kids with their faces painted up and decked out in Aggie gear. I figured it was probably family but still, the level of self awareness it would have taken for a high 5 or a "thanks for coming" is not really that challenging in an environment like that with so few people

It turned our kids off to following them and now they won't even watch Aggie women's ball.

But the racism in women's ball is wide spread. Look no further than the Dallas Wings court and the BLACK LIVES MATTER stamped on their midcourt. Good way to really bring people together through sports. I thought that schtick was retired by the far left after Trump left office but apparently it's still en vogue.

This is my first post on the women's basketball board. And quite honestly, I'm not even a basketball fan - men's or women's. I watch it from time to time, but not what I'd call a fan.

It's hard not to notice the immediate impact Ms. Clark has made on her sport. I saw the incident on ESPN and immediately called it what it was - jealousy against a white girl who's trying to make her mark on the court.

I was shocked when I found out that Ms. Carter was an Aggie - even more shocked when I find out that she was a three-time All-American and three-time First Team All-SEC selection for the our school. She played four years, had a number of major accomplishments and was drafted very his in the WNBA draft - but I had never even heard her name until yesterday.

I found it amusing when I saw Charles Barkley's take on the incident and called Ms. Carter out as being petty.

As someone who is a season ticket holder and is at pretty much every game, I can tell you that is totally an inaccurate portrayal of what happens after every game.

Players go into the crowd after the war hymn on the court. They talk to their family who is at the game. They talk to friends. They talk to fans too. At some point they go back into the locker room. I am impressed with how they engage with so many total strangers given their age and after a physically and mentally draining game.

Also, try going to an autograph day if you want even more.

I have followed Chennedy Carter's career and yes, she is a great player. However, she has been in trouble multiple times in her short professional career and she is going to find herself not playing anywhere if this continues to happen. She has a bad attitude, can be a bully, and no matter how good of player she is, I have lost all respect for her.

That didn't take long. It's now black vs white. ESPN is being critical of little Ms White. I hope these players enjoy their charter flights now, compliments of CC.

This is all too funny. We adore an Aggie who used a helmet as a club on a guy, but "lost all respect" for an Aggie who gave a hip-check to a player that just elbowed her in the face?

I just don't understand why people feel the need to white knight for Clark. Is she changing the women's game? YES. Did the 143 other players in the league benefit by her addition to the league? YES. Do they need to bow to her feet and not play her physical? HELL NO.

There's a wide chasm between playing physical and not bowing down vs. specifically targeting one single player during all times of a game in an attempt to get your 15 seconds of fame and act like you absolutely hate her for even being there. They are running her into earhole screens even when she isn't playing tight defense at mid court. That's something you do when defenses are playing tight and pressuring the ball. Not something you do on routine possessions when the defender is not even within reach of the ball handler and the screening defender is back inside the 3 point line.

I could literally care less about any of that. I'm not adoring or losing respect for anyone. Just stating facts. I'm not emotionally invested in either of the people you mentioned above.

Clark is transformational, though. Should Chennedy have done that? No. But she did. Oh well; move on. But she was a bully while here; those are the facts.

15 seconds of fame? Or maybe just tying to win a ballgame. She has an extremely quick trigger and stupid range. You better be on her tight inside the logo. And wear down her legs when you have the ball.

I didn't have think I'd be having to defend Clark on this board, but here I am.

As stated earlier in the thread, there's a BIG difference between flopping (feigning a foul where there wasn't one) and selling a definite foul.

Case in point this clip. Look at it again. The girl opposite Clark has position, but still throws an unnecessary elbow that Clark definitely sold. But the elbow throw WAS a Flagrant 1 foul.

I'm not interested in watching the WNBA or the NBA if it tolerates bush league flagrant fouls. I want to see basketball that exhibits sportsmanship. I never saw this kind of crap from Timmy, the Admiral, Bird, etc. I enjoyed baskeball more then.

Not sure how people on here can defend Chennedy. I don't even follow women's basketball. I'm here because I read a news article, googled the person taking the cheap shot, expecting to see a sip, LSU or tech player. Lo and behold, one of us. Disappointed to say the least. Is this the women's basketball version of Johnny football? Great on the court but we are having to make excuses for the shenanigans?

I really don't remember a whole lot of people taking Myles' side of that issue. Now did we move on from it? Yeah. We'll move on from this too but it can still be addressed
