Aggies Look to End Non-Conference Slate With 10-Game Winning Streak

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas The Texas A&M women's basketball team is set to take on Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday, Dec. 31 inside Reed Arena at 2 p.m. in hopes of extending its winning streak to 10 games.

The Aggies (11-1) boast one of the nation's top defenses, ranking No. 2 in in field goal percentage defense (31.1%) and No. 2 in scoring defense (47.7). The Maroon & White also ranks fifth in the country in rebounds per game (47.8) and is winning by an average of 34.5 points per game during the streak.

The Aggies' highly touted transfers have been a key factor in the team's success. Aicha Coulibaly is the team's second leading scorer at 11.8 points per game and Endyia Rogers is right behind her at 10.2 points each outing and is also ranked No. 15 in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio. Lauren Ware is ranked 10th in the nation in double-doubles with seven and is a big part of the stifling A&M defense as she ranks 13th in the country in total blocks with 30.

POSTGAME BASKETBALL CLINIC: Stick around after the game to participate in select basketball drills with the women's basketball team and coaching staff. It's FREE for all boys and girls ages 5-12.

AGGIE BASKETBALL FAN ZONE: Located at the North entry of Reed Arena, the new and improved Fan Zone opens one hour before tipoff and includes games, giveaways, face painting, and more.

14-10 Texas A&M at the midQ1 media time out with 4:31 left in quarter. Commerce is bringing a solid game.

23-19 Texas A&M end of Q1. Lions had a chance to tie at 20 with under a minute left. We are choosing awful shots and just are off on shooting. Hope we warm up or go through Ware more.

And Endiya immediately finds Barker down low for basket and1.

36-19 Ags and Lions take a timeout at 6:57 mark in Q2. Fantastic change in mindset with Endiya and Hylton leading playmaking with them, Barker, and Ware all scoring since the half.

Hylton made a huge impact during her time in.

18-0 Ag run comes to an end.

48-26 Ags at half. They de-emphasized long shots finally. Ags 25-7 in Q2 on scoring.

62-37 Ags with 3:20 left in Q3 media timeout.

72-45 Ags at end of Q3

I think she is fine. But she is letting plays get initiated with her away and going through Lauren especially. She has rebounded well and scored off orebs.

81-51Ags at 4:55 mark and media timeout in Q4.

Janiah has 19 as well as Lauren. We are out rebounding Commerce 68-36 when I looked it up just now (edit).

Our record is 73 rebounds in a game they just said. MJ, Lauren, and Janiah all in double digits on rebounds.

Thanks! She's just seemed extra annoyed today and I haven't been able to watch the full game. The game has been poorly called, almost dangerous sometimes.

But the amount of layups we've missed today is well over 15. That part has been very hard to watch

Scrubs in the last 6 minutes and they are looking scrubby. Just a bad last 3 minutes.

87-63 Ags win!!! Commerce did not fall asleep and had a 10-0 run in the 4th. We had been toying with winning by 30 or more but their run limited it to 24.

Indeed. But if it gives Coach more to coach with I'm in favor. And I'm pretty sure there was more to coach…

Will be interesting to see how we do in SEC play.

We have a lot of lop sided wins at home over under sized, out manned smaller schools.
We seem to have a lot of depth and are improving our play as a team.

The strategy is clearly to develop a longer rotation but Coach is sticking with same starters. So we know she will shorten the rotation when needed to match up with more capable teams.

Impossible to tell how this ends up, but hard to not be optimistic!!

56 KU with 7 wins and 5 losses is the highest rated team we have played.

No other SEC teams are ranked above our Ags.

Wonder if the TexAgs write up on today's game was really supposed to be in Premium??

The program needs as much exposure as it can get it at this point....not behind the pay wall!

I agree with you 100%. The rotation will be adjusted going forward i believe. TAMCC's 4 guard offense caused us trouble in the beginning. Our bigs were late getting out on the perimeter 3s.

That would be my guess because all other games she has been mask free.
