Still watching. Hoping to see something that resembles a basketball team. But so far ....nah.

Our girls are confident in their 3 point shooting abilities. Maybe they can look at a stat sheet and realize they suck at it. Or coach can call a time out and them know.

Total embarrassment from locker room to the buzzer.

We never even used a timeout.

Something isn't good at all.

I am sympathetic toward the players. Being DFL in the SEC has to exact an increasing emotional toll. Further, all the uplifting rhetoric about improvement and growth can wear very thin and disappear with continuing losses. Presently, it appears the season cannot end soon enough for our girls. I wish it was not so.

I've got nothing specific, but everything about that game was wrong from beginning to end. No timeouts used. No accountability. It wasn't like something went wrong for us. We just never were never into the game being something that mattered to us.

Just the few minutes I watched, no hint of real team effort or hustle. Can any of these girls even race down the court or do they just curtsy their way up and down the court with little interest in the result? I like Joni but it looks like she's really having trouble with team chemistry and spirit that can show itself even in a bad loss. Lack of talent and bad losses I can accept from this group. But not an almost total lack of effort and determination.

I think her opening press conference where she essentially said we are ranked appropriately 11th and we aren't a very good team, wasn't the right tone to set from the get-go. It's very unusual for a coach to start this bad and then ultimately be successful. Not looking good, let's see what happens this off-season

I think another area of concern is genuine/consistent growth from this team. There have been some competitive losses, like LSU. Where have y'all seen growth with this team?

The only thing to look for this season is players showing pride / professionalism at fundamentals and taking care of the ball. Coach can build on that.

Everything else probably has to be rebuilt from scratch because there isn't any directionality we can detect. Joni is free to dispute that and should in her pressers since it feels like we are witnessing regression.

I trust this can be a good hire. But my eyes are arguing against my heart now. First year and all that. Barker is definitely exactly who we expected but gets chippy too easily. All the players have things they can work on to get better right now. Time is short for doing that.

I would genuinely like an analyst or media person ask her why she does not take timeouts when her team is struggling. Is that punishment? For the purpose of learning? Has she given up? Are we throwing this season away? Idk. I'm very discouraged watching this team and I'm sure (or at least I would hope) they are just as discouraged. We aren't going to be good for a few years. We aren't going to be great for at least 5 at this rate. Thankful for Barker being here and being willing to go through the trenches bc she could have gone anywhere she wanted to win a national championship.

This team got good shots but were not hitting them. We have a talent and experience disparity with other SEC teams. There needs to be an influx of experienced players that know how to win and play with consistency. This is where the portal is used by many coaches to bridge that gap. They regressed this game but they play decent in others, that is what an inexperienced team does.

In my opinion there is no player that is taking a leadership role on the court, that role is usually the point guard. I've watched a lot of basketball and many thing are missing with this group. Leadership is a hard thing that has to be nurtured and learned. We need a good mix of experienced and young players. I do believe that a year under each players belt in the SEC will prove beneficial down the road for this team. The new committed players will be helpful to provide competition to those that come back but they are young and will need time to figure it out also.

I give all freshmen mulligans their first year because they are trying to figure this school and basketball thing out. Freshmen will be freshmen, you take the good with the bad. I will wait to see what we get out of the portal to make my determination on next season. I will support this staff and team until I see a reason not to.

100%. My point exactly. I think the staff came in late to fully explore the portal. This year is critical to add pieces to bridge that gap. That would really take the pressure off the less experienced players.

I don't want to pile on too much but I had to stop watching too. With the theme of "becoming" I just wonder what we are becoming... Her next year's recruiting class is a good one and I look forward to a different outcome next year.

I would hope .500 in conference play would be a great goal!

Anyone else remember the first Fast Break meeting when Joni said we were behind on NIL and that we lost players to other teams and, specifically, LSU because we couldn't pay as much? (Cough cough Alexis Morris)

All the games we've lost late by single digits and you have to question if Jordan Nixon would be the solution? I'll make a little analogy for you, the Chicago Bulls have the #7 defense in the NBA and will still be a lottery team because Lonzo Ball's knee seems irreparable. I'm not saying she would have us fighting for a top seed in the conference but we'd be in the middle of the pack, fighting for a spot in the tournament for sure.
