No, but they did a hell of a lot better than we did.

No - surely the standard should be to win the SEC outright (which we've done once), but the turn around he has accomplished is tremendous. Top 7 in a few years and poised for another deep run in the ncaa tournament. Say what you will about Vic, but he is a winner and always has been. Is he right for A&M WBB now? Idk. But why people disregard his abilities is so weird to me.

Yes. I was talking that most if not all public universities have to post the job as a requirement regardless if they have someone already. A mere formality in most instances.

In the recent ask Lucci episode he said he doesn't think A&M spends the kind of money it would take to get Vic, Barnes at Arizona or what LSU spent to get Mulkey. So anyone making at or above those is probably out of the discussion.

So that means all of the elite coaches that are already at schools like tu, South Carolina, Tennessee, UConn, Stanford, Arizona, etc are off the table.

That doesn't mean that one of their assistants is off the table.

Absolutely, the AD might hire a qualified assistant from one of those programs or another successful coach that isn't making that type of money. I was just pointing out that Lucci thought Vic and Barnes weren't in play.

Just won the B12 conference championship and will be a 2 seed in the ncaa tournament.

KBW has no head coaching experience and is to big a risk. This year was not a feather in her cap as far as recruiting or being an assistant coach goes. Bjork is going to have to go after a proven head coach.

Like I said, he's a perfect fit there.

I believe the silent extension was due to Blair not wanting too. Or perhaps one more go at it. Those who know him knows he can be a little stubborn at times. But both parties could not agree. They have been preparing for his exit which almost happened a couple years ago.

He sure does. And to think he is doing it with young talent, imagine where they are heading in the next couple of years. I always thought he was waiting for Gary to retire and be the no-brainer replacement. But then UT got rid of their coach and surprised pretty much everyone by going after Vic. With that, I think the boat was missed getting him back to College Station.

They knocked off Baylor for the Big XII Tournament championship. I expect ol' Vic is about to have his way in that conference until they move to the SEC. If his tenure at Miss St. is any indicator, he'll have his program up and firing on all cylinders by the time that move happens.

We really need THE RIGHT hire to take over this program before we fall too far behind, and that right hire may not be some big name. But rather someone who has done well elsewhere without our resources and geographic recruiting hotbed. Again Coach Yo comes to the forefront.

Coach Yo being 0-2 in the NCAA tourney doesn't bode well, especially given the match up today.

0 for 9 years as a head coach now. We must do better. That is just too much of a track record to project her to being the next great head coach in WBB.
