I did see Washington State beat #7 Arizona

Arkansas has a legit b***h on their last shot of the game. Only thing I can think the clock was at .00 when the foul was made and I'm thinking that was a foul. Tough way to lose a FT attempt or two.

I respectfully disagree. Looked like all ball to me. Refs and analysts all said she same thing. However, you are correct. As soon as she caught and pivoted the game was over. With only .4 left you cannot make a basketball move.

Looked like a block, not a foul. But should have just let the low percentage shot go. Much more likely the refs call something, based on the many questionable calls during the game.

Will the girls have any problem getting back with the weather?

I think the network did a disservice to the viewers by not showing a couple of slow mo replays of the final .4 seconds. First, it looked like our player got all ball but it was a very fast sequence. Second, I don't see how Dungee could have taken possession, pivoted to her right and gotten a shot off in .4 but the network didn't even show the shot clock inset. Instead, they showed the bus driver screaming and making a fool of himself then went to about 5 minutes of commercial filler until 5pm.

With 0.4 seconds left on the clock all they could do was throw it up and hope for a tip in which is what their first play looked like. On the second play where it went to Dungee, there is no way she could catch and shoot, let alone make a pivot move.

You're correct, but if you catch the ball and turn and make a motion all in .4 seconds, it's a shot attempt. That's why I said earlier that the contact must have been made at .00 which negates everything as the game is over. Believe me, I want our girls to win, but it's a tough way to lose an opportunity to maybe pickup a FT attempt or two. Check this, the officials ran off the court immediately which tells me in their head there was no foul, game over.

Would love to see the Arkansa Gazette's report on the game tomorrow and compare that to what The Eagle says. Oh well, on to the next.

This is the truth. Lol. If the call had gone the other way we would be very upset as well. The reality is, though, we played ok, but that was definitely not the team play that locked down Kentucky a few days prior. Zay Green and Alexis Morris make us so much more versatile. When we get gassed at the end of games due to a shallow bench, games like these become harder and harder to close out. The strength of this team is the diversity of how we can score. Let's keep getting better. Gig'em!

Arkansas is a matchup issue for us, yet we fought through it. Did not see the team fatigue today that has been an issue in the past. But it's early in the conference season.

Only six had some significant minutes. McKinzie and Ella are listed with one minute each. We know from experience Blair shortens the rotation when the game is at stake. Destiny played 22 off the bench with Wilson playing all 40 and Nixon 39. So most of the relief from Destiny and the other two went to Johnson, Jones, and Wells, in that order.

In thinking through the game and past games, I think that is effective for resting the team. I also think the team takes a lot of pride in being fit and staying on the court and dare I suggest they know they're Gary's team.

The win yesterday was an incredible road win. In spite of the close outcome there was a lot to like about the game. Not the least of which is 1/3rd of our games have been ranked opponents with zero losses.

Surprised to see that Arky lost to both Kentucky and Tennessee (both road games).

They are in a bit of a hole now w/ a 1-3 conference record. Tough to lose a home game by one point.

Agree - we pull away, and then they get hot with those 3s; very frustrating to watch lol! I'm sure it's just as frustrating to coach against. What is crazy is that before the game their coach commented that they would need to hit 15 3s to beat us. They hit 14. That is crazy analysis! I truly hope we're able to slow them down a bit more in the future, but some matchups are just tough regardless of what you do.

A couple of things.....

We are a matchup problem for Arky too...as was UT who also beat them in Knoxville
The return game at Reed will be different if we have all our players to run their little rears off the
3 point line with our fresh rotation. Morris will shut down whoever she guards and will make several steals

They are calling that game winning shot by Nixon a ":layup". It almost looked like a running mini sky hook or whatever...helluva shot no matter what it was. Nixon had a tough scoring game overall, but had the big 5 points right at the end.

Dungee is a great player. But in her haste to get the ball down court at the end, she turned it over setting up Nixon's game winner.

Nice to see Kayla rounding back into the player we know and love the last two games! She made some huge shots in the Arky game!

It looks like we have 8-9 players who could be the high point scorer in any given game. Not sure that Zay will shoot enough yet as she seems to be concentrating on everything else when she gets in. With more min if a starter in foul trouble, and looking to score more, she might do it. So far, that has not been needed from her.

Didn't Nixon also come up with that loose ball in that sequence ?

Dungee reminds me a lot of Sophie Cunningham a year or two back at Missouri. Especially her attitude: she has the whole arsenal of shots and moves but expects to get every call (provide her star protection), she's sneaky smart with flops or jersey tugs as necessary, etc. So it was satisfying that she made the last turnover, and I hope we hand it to them when they come here.

Arky's defense was totally packed in the lane when Nixon regained her dribble. There defense had completely broken down our offense at that point, but it was pretty funny watching them come flying out of the lane to cover wide open shooters on the outside. Left the small window for Nixon to get her shot off. It was Nixon's night at the improv, and she made the most of it..

Agree....some great discussion going on!

Just listened to Coach Blair's Q&A and it seems like he's playing a little cat and mouse about Morris and Green. He doesn't want the opposing teams to know their status so they have to prepare for 15 Aggie players. Good stuff.
