If we weren't over there the market likely wouldn't be a yo yo like it has been. Oil goes up. Market goes down. Trump issues statement that "we are close to a deal!" Market stabilizes.

Probably looking at a steady climb up if not for Iran. Earnings are kicking ass, last jobs report was better than expected, etc. All good for market psychology.

Markets are untethered from the economy. Inflation is still an issue and cost of living is not getting better. Iran is turbocharging the anxiety.

Yes, I largely agree on bold. It's never been more disconnected than it is now.

Inflation: having a 2% inflation goal is a pipe dream. New normal is 3-4% where we are right now if you believe the numbers. Problem is that inflation stacks and we've had years of inflation now. Prices won't go back down unless demand collapses for a product or service.

I agree that Iran adds to the anxiety of economic conditions here primarily seen through energy costs.

End game has been what it's always been. That hasn't changed. The strategy to get there has changed as it always does in war, work, and life.
