Who makes a good business casual dress shirt? I'm in Denver so Bobby G won't work.

I'm looking for
  • Long sleeve button down
  • Machine wash
  • Non-iron (this is important)
  • Button cuff
  • Slim fit
  • Tall sizes

I'm not picky at all! Ha!

TIA!

Twillory or Charles Tyrwhitt.

Also, Jcrew.

You probably can't go off the shelf with what you've got there. Non iron is a catch-22. Good for traveling or one-off situation but I don't like the sheen that goes with it. Also tends to trap sweat and heat if you in a humid environment. So it's either send out for laundry or deal with being hot and the less than ideal look of non natural fiber.

I was on Banana Republic noniron shirts for a while. Loved them and they had tall which was great. Everything I listed above.

Then they stopped making the noniron. Their current ones require iron after every wear.

I have a few Ralph Lauren non-irons that have held up nicely for travel but I don't know if they do a slim-tall combo.

ETA: As noted above, look at the department store house brands or something like Dockers/Calvin/Perry Ellis/Van Heusen, I have gone to them in a pinch on the road.

Men's Warehouse and Jos A Bank seem to specialize in these as well.

Been wearing for at least a decade. Great shirts and the non iron doesn't have a sheen!

I mainly just wear polos/golf shirts now but when I wore dress shirts Charles Tyrwhitt was my go to. Pretty customizable (button down, wide collar, normal collar, tailored fit, slim, regular, etc) and I liked the fit. They often have really good sales and you could get like 5 shirts for $200 or something. As I said, been a few years so inflation probably upped that some, though.

Have picked up a couple Mizzen and main shirts as I like the material.

I like bonobos for slacks and chinos but their shirts never seemed to fit. Didn't matter the cut it got, it was too tight in the shoulders, chest area. And their service has gone to ***** I did a Black Friday sale order and it took over a month to fulfill. By the time they did the items I really wanted for the order were out of stock and I only got the "filler" items. A business that only does online orders has to be better than that.

Seconded. CT shirts are common wear on Wall Street and in prestige management jobs. They're credible, nice shirts that won't break the bank. Hope they're around for a long time

Are Brooks Bros non-iron shirts out of fashion now? Hope not because I'm still wearing them...

They make a great shirts as well. Often wear them out in the evenings and have gotten a number of compliments. I occasionally wear to the office too as we're pretty casual overall.

They're still in fashion. Agree with Choppin Ds.

I used to buy BB but never went back after CT.

Btw, Uniqlo has great Oxfords (slim fit and other options) that fit and hold up well. They're better than the Ralph Lauren Oxfords which used to be the best option imo

I'll chime in on the Charles Tyrwhitt. If you wait for the sales, you can get 3 for about $35 each

By far my favorite is the Richmond Weave. The material seems thicker. Never a wrinkle in it. I have about 20 wears on my oldest one, and it looks brand new.

The other materials are fine, but I find myself picking the Richmond Weave shirts most of the time when I am getting ready in the morning.

My dress shirt wearing has decreased 90% since covid. Just hardly wear them anymore even though I'm in the office 4 days a week. Thank you, China!

I get my clothes from Raj who comes in from Thailand twice per year, but if I need a shirt in a pinch, I'll definitely pick up a CT shirt. I can highly recommend them as well.

take your measurements and get a custom fit shirt from proper cloth or a similar service. a good fitting, $100 shirt will look better than a poor fitting, off the rack $200 shirt every time.

Ordered a few CT shirts. 3 for $99 with code "CHRIS".

Also the referral link below is supposedly good for an extra $25. Not sure if it stacks with the above or not, but worth a try.

I used to wear all CT shirts when I had to wear dress shirts every day but I haven't ordered any in almost 10 years. I'm thinking about getting a few new ones for meetings and some casual wear.

I looked and don't see the Richmond Weave. Do you know if it's for a particular style/cut only?

I did a search on their website, and they are there, but they are all on clearance. They might be phasing them out for a while. Not sure.
