Prediction?

One of two scenarios are likely imo.

1. People take profits at $3 and then a pullback.
2. The excitement shoots it past $3 and profits are taken around $3.25-$3.50.

Thinking of taking some on this runup too but I'm honestly not sure where I'd rather have my $ for the rest of this year. Currently holding relatively equal parts BTC, ETH, ADA and MATIC.

If you don't mind me asking, are you moving to BTC or cash or other crypto here?

Not taking until after the release...on that run up to Hydra.

Want to catch the true top, if possible, and delay capital gains taxes longer.


Didn't expect $3 until first week of Sept so this run up could be to $4...craziness.

Took profits on 75% of my ADA position and moved the money to BTC. I like to trade ADA and invest longer-term in BTC, so pretty normal progression for me. I do not hold any other c-currencies.

ADA and ENJ killing it in my portfolio. Thanks for the recommendation on ADA in this thread. I bought even more at $1.06 a month ago (pure chance, didn't know it was bottoming out).

I literally don't even know what ENJ is but have been holding and buying low for a while and been doing well for me. Feeling good now.

Similar to others, selling a bit of the ones doing well to try to cover some other coins that are still a bit down. It's pretty clear I have no idea what I'm doing but feels good to be above even after the massive tank a few months ago.

Contemplating selling my ADA and moving it into LINK. Which is still at roughly 50% of its ath.

Just my opinion - not sure that is wise. Smart contracts will be on Cardano ecosystem in weeks and that means oracles will be needed. LINK might be used but my gut tells me C3 and Wolfram get the biggest piece of pie. Additionally, as devs move from ETH to Cardano LINK might lose some steam.

Just my instincts on whether to convert ADA to LINK.

Clearly I need to do more homework. How are you feeling about cosmos? I'm staking mine on CB.

Link is the leading oracle. They are not going anywhere or lose any market share anything soon. I am personally taking profits from ADA, because the price pumped on news and I like to buy well established companies/tokens. Link will maybe 1x to around $50 during this bull cycle. So if you plan to sell ADA, you will have to determine if you think ADA will get to the $5 to $6 bucks. Also, don't forget to calculate short term taxes.

Personally, I have and plan to sell more of my ADA position and roll into SOL and ETH because those token are almost guaranteed to atleast 2 to 3x this bull cycle from there current prices. *Not financial advice.

So, no one has solved the oracle problem yet, everyone is still on zero.

Alonso hard fork release plus Japan listing plus ETH converter then Hydra implementation....yes, I believe ADA will surpass $5/$6 this year.

Again, imo...ETH still has problems and will continue to have problems. Institutional money keeping it afloat will be important until devs jump ship (IF they do) over to Cardano.

Why wouldn't a company switch to a faster, less expensive, and greener ecosystem....at the click of a button?

There are no wash rules on crypto correct? I've always just bought for long term and don't sell. But may sell some ADA at some point if it runs to $5 with hopes of buying back in for long term at a lower price point. If I sell ADA and then it drops, I can buy it all back whenever I want, correct? And don't have to wait 30 days?

May just not mess with it bc I am going to keep it long term and will be sick if it never comes back down after I sell. But seems the chances of it going back down at some point are high if it reaches $5 or so.

As of today that's correct. Wash sale rules are for securities and crypto is property.

I am pretty much a hodler, but with multiple people predicting a pull back, I sold my ADA yesterday and will likely jump back in below 2.50. Do not rely on my noob financial decisions.

Noob crypto guy here. My largest holding in coinbase is ADA, ETH, LTH, BTC. I have never sold. When you do, should I transfer it to USD coin, or just sell it for cash. Are the fees different doing this?

My ADA is up more than 100% and I would like to maybe go net free. I am just thinking of holding so I don't get hit with ST cap gains. I do plan on holding ADA for the long haul. I also want to buy more BTC.

Anytime you sell crypto, whether to cash out or purchase another coin, you owe capital gains regardless. I am guessing your best option is to cash out after a year because technically you will have to pay out CG again on the USDC on your earnings while it's there.

Yes I understand the cap gains. I just was wondering what was the best method to cash out when I do to let the money sit in coinbase ready for next buy.

Oh ok I understand. Maybe if you think you can get a net positive return on USDC it is worth it? I don't follow that coin much or know Coinbase transaction fees.
