That's it. I'm starting the texagscoin. Thanks to my revolutionary tokenalgorithm, every hodler is guaranteed to get lambo rich and also safely. Here's how it works: I'm making 50 decillion (<had to google it) tokens, 25 of which belong to me for free because I'll keep it safe. Buying tokens has a 5% fee that goes straight to building a fleet of gold trans ams for jimbo. Selling tokens has a 30% fee with 20% going to buying out coaches mid season (we'll have a vote on when to pull the trigger; that's right texagscoin is democratic too. Safe.), 5% goes to a new bevelless logo, 3% for maroon gatorade coolers, and 2% gives every texagscoin hodler a free varsity membership.

TLDR: tokenalgorithm, safe, rich, success.

Edit again to add you can find tokenomics referenced in crypto articles atleast back to 2018.

I guess my issue isn't the word tokenomics as much as the trend of using it to hand wave a hyper deflationary approach that punishes using the coin.

Where it describes tokenomics as such:

Doesn't mention anything about redistribution or punishing sellers, but rereading clucoin's site they are saying doing those things is their method of tokenomics model.

Yes. The crypto explosion is relatively new, so a lot of people have the jitters, and want to sell at the first sign of a dip.

Meh, even after tonight my MATIC has easily offset my ADA losses. Glass half full I guess. It's not about now anyway.

There's blood in the streets, There's blood in the streets....buy the fear folks.

Institutions, banks, corporations, and the wealthy are buying lots in small increments. Banks and institutions especially as they want to start selling crypto (mainly BTC) to their customers directly and as stock.
As someone else pointed out, they are shaking off weak hands, getting rid of the fearful which creates buying opportunities for them.
I am not shaken or worried as I am playing the longer game.
Consolidation/Accumulation is happening right now.

Good read below. If Harmony ONE was a tad older I believe it might have e made this list.

We already know China is working on their own central digital currency and doesn't want competition or people making their own decisions.
This furthers my belief of what is going on behind closed doors.

If China bans crypto how does that impact the value of Bitcoin? Would it go up or down?
