I'm in

I was working when I saw it fire up earlier. Don't have a preferred or good time to chat. I'll keep a lookout. I think I will get notifications for the group but I forgot one of the reasons I installed before was all the crazy notifications.

Yeah ots pretty intense the notifications. There are some setting to change but its still a bunch.

The stocks thread had a discord going and it can get a bit noisy. Usually I just turn off notifications and lurk.

I'll open a room up at 930 central-ish. Haven't played with clubhouse much so looking forward to it.

Elon admitted all of his companies own bitcoin. And he owns a large set himself, Jack dorsey stated he think bitcoin will bring world peace. Kathy wood said things. None of them gave much pushback on Elon. It was interesting and would give a casual consumer a better perspective but largely irrelevant among informative relevant data.

El Salvador giving all its adult citizens $30 of BTC is a very interesting development. 6M people added to the crypto-economy at the click of a button essentially.

That's the newest new news for social adoption of bitcoin, definitely Bullish for a country top to bottom to adopt bitcoin and even gifted their first $30 [which is roughly 2% of the average El salvadorans monthly salary].

This would be like gifting Texans $90 in bitcoin.

Would anyone be willing to share how they plan for federal taxes after dealing in cryptocurrency? Do I only need to worry about reporting any withdrawals to my bank account? If I sell ETH to USDC or USDT them use that USDC to buy XRP, am I liable for selling that ETH?

Should I expect Coinbase to send me a tax form in January?

It's treated exactly like any other stock. It's not treated as currency.

Coinbase has a reports section tied to your account. I think it's under your profile area. They won't send you a tax form; you run the report yourself and just turn it into your CPA. That's what I did.

Also, Coinbase has a tax FAQ document that goes over this.

I use taxbit dot com. Just link your exchange accounts and it auto generates all IRS forms for you.

This is 100% true.

And it literally is two different groups of people - the rich, and the poor. And most of their rich would be considered lower middle class here.

I'd like to hear recent stories since the new pres got elected. I've heard in a number of different forums from current El salvadorans that claim the crime has dropped tremendously [or at least gang-related crime] since his election and these advances towards a better monetary system are all designed to reduce crime and increase the purchasing power for all salvadorans so that the need to resort to crime is minimal to nonexistent.

He sure sounds [like a politician] like an enthusiastic and capable person and his directions thus far are interesting, and seem completely supported by all adherents. Who knows. Maybe he's just Ghaddafi of El Salvador but just needs a few years.

We've got some connections there but I haven't heard from them in over a year. And they are definitely in the "rich" camp.

Got a good friend who is an HVAC tech here, he has been flying back alot recently because his mother is sadly close to passing away. He told me that he loves the new president because he is " killing all the gang members and drug dealers" and feels there is true positive change happening there

If you don't support/aggrandize good behavior, what's not to incentivize the bad? Like I said I'm gonna attempt a vacation at some point down there to promote what I think is exceptional behavior.

And I'll do my best to give love to the locals for their president and their country and countrymen/women for working hard to make their country a beacon.
